Heres the deal: Bought my tires and rims from an online source and they werent balanced correctly. It wasnt bad just a little wiggle in my steering wheel. After presenting this to the board i decide to go get them balanced. Bring them to a local truck shop and they say i must pay for all 4 to make sure they are balanced correctly....not a problem as $25/tire to preserve my front end and stop the shakes is not a big deal. Get it back fromt he shop rides smooth as glass. Great right? Well i recently rotated my tires(directional tire so fronts go to back, back to front) and guess what? Shake is back in the steering wheel. Directly before rotating them balancing was perfect. As soon as i drive my truck after the balancing shakedy shakedy!
I dare say the truck shop just balanced the front. Would anyone agree this is a safe assumption?

You got RIPPED!
I went to Discount Tire with 4 37 X 12.50 X 17 BFG MT i purchased elsewhere and 4 H2 rims (2 with old tires still on the rims). The bill was:
2- Dismounts & Remounts @ $12.00ea = 24.00
2- Mounts @ $8.00ea = 16.00
4- Lifetime Computer Bal @ $18.00ea = 72.00
Total $112.00
out the door. They rebalance and rotate every 3-4K miles no charge.

Pehaps i was using a shop that charges a bit more but i dont have a discount tire and im running a 20in rim. While most places can balance a 17in tire(the 37i may be a problem) their machines are not capable of balancing a 20in rim.

I know the tires you have tyake a ton of weight to balance. Maybe you through a wieght or two. Did you rotate the tires or have someone else do it? I'd ask the place that balanced your tires to do it again if it wasn't that long ago.

some tire balance machines aren't meant to handle the larger sizes also. the machines are set to rotate at a certain speed and if that speed isn't doing the trick, you'll still feel some wobble at your higher speeds.
