I was curious to find out if anyone else is having a simular problem before I make a trip to the dealer.

I wanted to know if when playing any DVD's do some of them stop or skip while playing? It has happened to me on Original ones and Backed up ones.

This will happen in either of the players

Thanks

The only time it happened to me was when my son kicked the seat. It locked it up. I turned it off and then back on and it started back up fine. Make sure your seat back is not too bouncy as this makes the laser skip inside the DVD player. Also, when the yours skipped, did you hit a hard bump or get a sudden jolt? If not maybe you need the unit looked at the laser could be misaligned. Hope this helps.

Hummerman,

Have you tried playing any backed up DVD's or only the originals?

It will freeze or skip in both my units no matter if I go over a bump or a straight road

I have plaued both and no problems. SPonge bob original and wedding crashers on back up. You should probably head into the dealer and get it checked out.

Has everyone had the dealership install the DVD headrests or has anyone done it themselves?

I missed the DVD promo and I'm jealous of all the newbies with the cool gear http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif So I just picked up a brand-new unopened set on ebay the other day for a good price.

I’ve never done any complex audio or video installations before so I might have the dealer do the install for me. Any thoughts?

I am guessing you should be able to do it fairly simply.

Go here and they have the install instructions for the headrests.

If you've hooked up a vcr to a tv, you should have no problem with the headrests.

I don't mind drilling holes in the rig, but when it comes to putting in electronics I turn into a bit of a wussie. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
