"In this year's motorshow in Bologne, Fiat is revealing an Oltre Fiat model - clearly shaped after the Hummer, simultaneously rather different.

The rugged-looking Oltre Fiat is obviously designed to draw people to their stand, and what better way than to ridicule the most American of all models pottering around on the roads today? The Oltre Fiat is essentially a Fiat van with a different bodykit and suspension.

It appears that the attention-drawing, hospital-white monstrosity is more of a practical joke than anything else - Industry insiders have deemed it 'extremely unlikely' that Fiat are set to produce such a model. They did recently launch the Fiat Sedici 4x4 and a more rugged version of the Panda 4x4, however, so it may well be that the one-off is meant to up the attenion around the new production models - unless the Italians manage to capture the attention of a military force or two.

According to Fiat, the ground clearance of the Oltre is more than half a metre, and when fitted with special breathing equipment, the car can drive through 150cm (that's nearly 5 ft!) of water."
