I wasn't sure what this thread was going to be about. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif
The only discounts that I am hearing about are those dealerships that are accepting employee and supplier discounts. Other than that, it is mostly sticker pricing.

I couldn't get them to drop a cent
GM in the Driveway discount. Done deal.
Don't know about dickering on price,I was fortunate to get the GM discount. I tried to get them to throw in a couple of things and they said they couldnt do that because that would show favoratism. They are getting like Toyota and some others that what it says is what you pay.If you were able to get something thrown in and you told someone else then legally they would be required to do the same for them etc....They told me that they don,t do that anymore.I could be wrong but that is what my experience was.

Find a dealer with a large supply (Detroit area is a good example), and they MIGHT go down a bit. If you are not using employee pricing (Employee or eligible sponsored dependant...they do not offer the GM employee pricing to everyone on the 2006 models such as an H3), then there is nothing wrong with them throwing something in for free.
On GMS (employee pricing) it is against the policies of GM for them to do anything more than give the actual GMS pricing.
If you know someone at GM, you can get GM in the Driveway (GMID) pricing and that is a good size drop from the MSRP.

I have a deal going for under MSRP. I actuaally found a few dealers that were willing to sell for this price. Maybe beacuse I am in Hawaii and out of there market?
I can refer you to the dealers that I obtained this pricing from.
I have My H3 arriving in a month or so, and the purchase was made in the Seattle area.
Email me If I can help?

Had the supplier discount which there is no haggling at all; they did throw in the crossbows for free, which I think the salesman made up for it since I added the brush guard. Makes no since, it's a Hummer and should come standard with the brush guard.

humv, I can't believe the dealer told you some BS about not being able to show favortism. Closing a deal on a vehicle has nothing to do with favortism. You should have asked the dealer, "Who the hell is going to do anything about it? Are the Hummer police gonna come and arrest you and repo my h3 because the dealer showed "favortism?" The dealer here in New Orleans told me that he was going to make me a secret deal but I had better not tell anyone. Then he offered to take $500 off the sticker. I told him to shove the hummer up his ass sideways. I left the dealership, flew to Houston, and made my deal. No Problem!!!

For those of you in NJ, I got an email from Gold coast Cadilac in Oakhurst on rt 35 is offering H3's on the lot (not orders) at invioce, which is not sticker retail, invioce should be close to what the dealer pays. It is invation only, and you must have the email printed out with your name on it to get the deal. But that is what I know

I do know that on GMS (GM employee discount), they are audited by GM to show they are not throwing in anything for free. If they do, the dealer can get fined, and I believe the employee can lose his privileges for a year. Not sure about GMID or Supplier discounts.
On a normal purchase, the dealer can do whatever he/she wants too. Heck they can give you the car for free if they desire.

I got mine for about 3,000 of the sticker price. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif
At the Bellevue dealership in Washington they have a track set up to test drive the Hummer.
Well they had a H3 (mine now) there and since it was a "test vehicle" with 66 miles on it they sold it cheaper. I don't like the fact that people test drove my H3 for testing purposes up 16 inch wood blocks and down steep slopes but for $3,000 discount it was ok with me. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
I failed to mention that I was able to get the GM discount. I was at the dealer today and asked about the favortism stuff. They cannot throw anything in for GM deals but can do whatever they want for others. your right f5fstop.

I walked in cold to Weil Hummer in Libertyville, IL on June 20th and ordered an H3. Sticker price was $35,760 before taxes and fees and I chewed him down to $33,600. It came in and I picked it up on August 9th. No problems, everything that was written in the bill of sale was exactly the same when I took delivery. Was very suprised. And now that I look back, I'm sure I could of got him down a few more bucks. Love the car, just turned 900 miles today.

We had another out-of-state customer come in today -- He's from Albuquerque, NM -- he even KNOWS the dealer there and the guy told him "If you don't buy it for 1500 over sticker, I've got 4 more in line who will.." And now he's doing business w/ us. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif
