I removed the large plastic wind deflector because I never cared for it. I think I may be missing a part. Don't these things come with a built in deflector that pops out when the roof is opened? Well, at least every other car or truck I've owned did, even the H3.
I'm assuming that the factory spring loaded deflector needed to be removed for the larger plastic unit. Can anyone validate that? If so, I am willing to trade.

The plastic one you removed is the only factory deflector for this truck, no auto one like most vehicles.

Thanks,
I called the dealer this morning before I read your reply and they said the same. IMO the huge sunroof is useless. Even with the giant wind deflector you can only open the roof half way due to heavy buffeting.
It's too bad as the one in my H3 was a great design and you could open it all the way with minimum wind issues.

no buffeting if you open a window. I use mine all the time. It keeps me tan.

You were lucky. My sunroof sucks, and will be installing the very part you are pulling off, to help eliminate the wind and vibrating. My dealership said it's a known problem, and there is no fix.

Mine's aftermarket, and I believe it has the "pop up" deflector...haven't had the courage to pull of the ugly plastic deflector on the roof yet....

Kacyk, my wife's highlander doesn't have a large deflector like the H2 does, and it does have a lot of wind buffeting. Just crack the rear windows open, and it should solve the problem...
