with the exception of the park for the wild horses, anything is fair game. I blazed thru some awesome smaller dunes just behind where I took that pic of the H3 on the dune. There are hundreds of little trails between the ocean and the sound and some interesting shacks and trailers back there! More pics to follow...

You better run through a car wash that has underbody cleaning a few times. I heard those H3 are put together with untreated scraps from H2s.;)

Well the H2 scraps definetly need cleaned :) too bad the only car wash on the whole island (26 miles) was broken! I have lots of scratches to buff out too but it was fun.
Oh and DRTYFN here's your horsie pics: :D

I meant high tide when the ocean gets way up on the beach and you are forced in the ruts.
My family had a beach house there and it is all 4x4- no asphalt. So you had to wheel to get groceries etc. So if you got caught coming home or leaving at high tide the trip would take twice as long. Airing down the moving truck to get our furniture there was pretty weird.
I used to practically live out there when I could. I haven't been down there in a long time. I heard that some jerks have been shooting the wild horses.  And that it has really been built up.:( My Mom decided to live there full time and did back in 1999-2002, but then sold it when the houses started cropping up everywhere.
But yeah, the shacks and trailers on stilts way back there- FREAKY.:D
Still, it is a cool place.:)

The horses are so tame, it sucks that anyone would shoot them. And now I know what you are referring to with the tides, last year I only drove in the ruts and it takes 2 or 3 times longer to get anywhere. This year I was only out once at high tide.

We, in the Gulf coast area call people who drive thier vehicles through the salty water "Contributers to the used rusty car sales lot".
Hope it rains really hard soon, so you can get most of the undercarriage salty water sediment off.
Aint nuthing like speeding up the rust process!:D

Great pics, looks like fun. A few of the pictures remind me of Baja California.
