TGL powder coated his. Neo painted his. I'm sure powder coat will hold up better but you can't beat the price for a couple cans of paint.

Looks nice, I was thinking of doing something like that, but it was easier to just tell the PC'er to make them all black. :D
Lang - It's about $50-$125/wheel to PC. Places around here charged $100/wheel.

Do you even have to take the wheel off to do this? It looks like an easy & cheap job and i really like how it looks. My plain stock ones are buggin me.

hey lord , its best to remove wheel and tire from truck to avoid overspray on your paint . but no need to remove tire from wheel . i painted all my center caps and spare on a fri night and did the other four wheels on a sat . just scuff the clear coat with a scotch brite pad . tape off the tire at the bead and spray away :D

one other thing i thought of after doing mine , you might try it , is get self etching primer and then paint over the primer might hold up better

Nice selective use of bling. I'm a fan of tasteful bling too. You should see the bling action on the H2 forum.:)

For those of you who spray painted your rims black, is it noticable that it is not powder coated or professionaly done? Also how long ago did you do it, is there any signs of wear?

48 hours and no wear yet:D Good thing is, if I scratch them on a rock I just get out the spray can:rolleyes:

everyone that has seen my wheels think they are powder coated , until they get close enough to notice that my wheel weights are black too . they have been on the truck for about three months now and holding up great . i have some nicks and scratches but that is because i wheel it pretty hard ( scraped on rocks ). when powder coating gets chipped you have a pretty deep nick to fill . with the spray paint just a little scuffing at the damaged spot and a little spray and they look great again .

hmrlvr: any update on the wheels? I still want to paint mine similar to yours <or all black> but have been told it may be a bad idea -- does it still look sharp? or is there any scratches or bubbles or anything?

Not a scratch yet. I haven't really been offroad with them yet though. Pismo in 2 weeks:D . I used the bedliner spray that some other guys were using on other parts. Holding up suprisingly well. I haven't tried it through a commercial car wash yet. I like to wash it myself but the car wash wheel scrubbers may damage them???
