View Full Version : I See An H3 In My Future
Yes, the time has come. My H2 lease is starting to go way over mileage, and I have to start thinking about the next vehicle:( . I would finance my H2 out, but the rates are horrific, and it's out of warranty. H3's have some good stuff going on right now, like low financing and some rebates. I really don't want to get out of an H2, but I can't afford $1,000/month to finance one. And an H1 is out for the same reason I won't finance my H2 out--interest rates.
Then I thought I should buy an FJ, and we could all beat it up together!!! But then I realized I'd be a flaming homo and probably kill myself.
But maybe an LR3 would be good... Nah, that would also equal flaming homo.
(Jeep never even entered my mind...)
So, I have decided that an H3 is probably where I will end up. I like it off-road (I had about a 7 month test drive...:D), the turning radius is nice, and it's a little better on mileage. Plus my insurance won't be so high.
However, I would really love to be in an SUT, but I'm afraid that will probably have to wait, unless someone knows of any killer deals, or some rich chicks that might like to be kind to me. :D

Don't be ashamed. A lot of guys make the same decision when a real off-roader is unaffordable.

I own a H3 due to budget but at least it is a Hummer. Buy the H3 Aubs, join the Hummer Club and come to Durango event Sept 18th. need some peps with character there so i don't get board talking to my brother-in-law the whole time.
Connie, did you buy the postitute for maury?

Aubs,
Pull your ass out of your head and grow up.
After wheeling today, I realized a Hummer is the only way to go. Anything else would have been killed by lack of armor, or ground clearance, or traction systems.

Why not just stop paying for your H2. Keep it locked up at night, chain a pitbull to it, or if you have to go out, turn your wheels real sharp next to the curb or other vehicles. Watch some repomen tv shows for more tips.

:D :D Nice.
The dealer close to me is offering a 489 a month for 39 months lease on SUT's right now plus there's a 3K incentive and I can get supplier pricing. I'm giving some serious thought to getting out of my H3 lease and getting one.

Hmm, very interesting. I figure an H3 finance would be about $500/month, maybe more. An H2 lease for that price is pretty good. Maybe you're putting a lot down, or have a good trade?

It's amazing. It was so smooth, and composed. Utterly British.
Really though, they need to get some better videos. These are really pathetic compared to even the silly ones of the Hummer.com site.

Has anyone seen the undercarriage of the LR3? It's a mess. Looks like they routed the exhaust pipe under the rear axle. And there are brake lines and cables everywhere, ready to snag on rocks, brush, or prairie dogs.

my parents just leased a 06 h3 adv and off road packgs and after driving it im very impressed.not that im saying going from a h2 to an h3 is gonna be an easy transition but the h3 has very good feel to it.try test driving one if you havent already.

Thanks for the info. Before my wife left, I had about a seven month test drive with the H3. Overall, it was very nice, and probably better off-road than my H2 for certain things. Obviously, the H2 shines in areas where the H3 doesn't. So it's a toss up. Ideally, as I've said, I'd like an SUT, and own that until it died. But I think an nicely decked out H3 might be a good substitute.
I should add though that I saw some auction results at the LR dealer. I could probably get a used SUT with some miles (2005) for just under $40,000 at auction. So, that threw another wrench in. I could probably get one from my bro-in-law at the auction in Manheim. So I have to think.
