View Full Version : Need a favor - Lookup a Build Date

Hi. Could someone do me a favor and look up a build date of an H3 for me? It is close to the rear diff lapping compound issue (Aug 05) and I wanted to get an idea. I can PM the VIN to you.
Also, could I ask the dealer this info? Think they would mind why I was asking?

The dealer should have not problem getting this info for you. If they don't want to get it for you I would ask them why and be concerned how forthcoming they would be with me in the future. If they ask why you want it, just say you are curious and don't mention the lapping issue. Not knowing this dealership but knowing how some are, I'd be worried they might tell you just about anything to sell a unit that has been on the lot as long as that one has.

I tend to agree. But my first contact with the salesman a month ago was no pressure at all. Very nice. And he didn't mind when I took him on a 30-40 minutes test drive. :)

if you look on the sticker on the drivers side door area there should be a date of manufacture there.

Agriv8r got me the date. And researching back a bit, Fstop mentioned in a post that lapping compound issue not present in builds after Aug 10, 05. Which is good news.
