OK, probably more for the manual trans owners (like me now)...
First night. I parked for a while. It's dark out. Start the truck, release the parking break and the hood opens! They are kind of near each other.
c'mon, who else? Am I the only one?

Okay... This sounds like the prelude to a "romantic" interlude. Remember, its okay to love your Hummer. Its not okay to LOVE your Hummer!
Start the truck, go to release the parking break and the hood opens! They are kind of near each other.

Nope. Never done that. Uh-uh. Nope, not me. Never ever...

I have to admit, the first night I had mine I did it. Sad thing is, I got out, shut the hood got back in and did the same damn thing :o
The hood release is located at about the same place the break release was on my other SUV. GF did it once or twice too and now she isn't allowed to drive it anymore ;)

Gee thanks. If you don't hve a 5 Speed Manual trans, you probably don't use parking break much. I never do unless it's a manual.

I have a auto, but my dad taught me to always use the parking brake. He said it was a good habit to have, but I can't remember the reason.

My driveway has a nice slope to it so I use it on a daily basis.

I am with you, I only used my parking brake twice in the year that I own it, but both times I popped my hood when I went to release the brake.

Been there, Got the Tshirt.
Wait till you hop in an automatic, go for the clutch and hit the brake. You'll only do it once.

I have 7500 miles on my H3 and hit the hood release this morning. Apparently, I am a slow learner....

Happend to me once. It was a dark moonless night. In the distance you could hear a dog barking and some crickets (looking for tgl). THAT'S when it happened. I'll never forget....

LMAO! :D :D
Not yet :) but I park most of the time on level ground so I just leave the 1st gear in and don?t use the brake at all.
Also, this is my first car/truck with brake pedal - so I have to concentrate hard when using it anyway :D :D - novelty ..

Well I did it about a month ago...But Not In an H3.. I was in my 1973 ThunderChicken and I reached down for the E Brake Release which is a mechanical secondary back up to the auto vacumm release.
The Auto release failed..(Vacumm Hose Broke)...So I pulled the Back up Release..........Only ..it was the Hood release cabel.... The handle came out in my hand with 3 feet of cable attached....
