I live in zip code 16061, out in the middle of no place. I do see a few smart folks around here driving hummers.
However, this is just passing each other on the street.
What is the best way to find a local Hummer group in my area?
TIA...

Metal,
I'm just north of Pittsburgh, in 15229, about 50 miles south of you. I have been looking for not only places to wheel, but also a group to join. I have PM'ed several folks around Western PA and I think there would be some interest in getting a group together for outings and maybe even a club.

Lets research the Boggs in Saxonburg.
I am new to PA, I already pulled the moving truck up the hill, job done.
So we don't have rock crawls?!, So what? I already know what a Hummer can do. I didn't buy it to run around town, I would have bought a VW for that.
A Hummer is meant to get dirty, heck, mines dirty just from running around.

Oh great! Here we go with the "PEEPS" again.
Quite a few of us get together and run Paragon AP in Hazleton. Keep your eyes open for the threads. Also, contact Oldhiker on this forum. He loves running out there.

Nothing like getting your peeps together.

You guys are in the backyard of two great east coast wheeling spots: Paragon Adventure Park (http://www.elcovaforums.com/forums/www.paragonap.com) and Rausch Creek (http://www.rauschcreekoffroadpark.org/home.php). Definately keep an eye peeled for upcoming trips. I hope to organize one sometime in mid/late September to mid/late October.

Both Paragon and Rausch are 4-5 hours from us Western PA'ers, so very easy to schedule a trip over there.
Next organized ride at Paragon is Sept. 2nd-3rd ($40/day)

Happy to see I'm living TOTALLY RENT FREE.

Metal, what's the Boggs????
It's a shin-dig of a mudhole. You know, lets go ride and get muddy, with nothing other than a gentle ride through a mudhole.

Nemacolin is $125 for only 2 hours - kinda expensive, but I'll do it if we have a group.
Metal, where is Hillsville and Millers?? Not too familiar with the area yet. I could be in for this weekend.
I also found a place down by Ohiopyle on www.4x4trails.net

I thought owning a Hummer was all about being who we are. As a person doesn't our SUT reflect us? Forgive me for not jumping on the bling, bling.
I didn't know I had to conform to a click to matter.
I think we are a cut above, hence the reason I road this trail myself before I asked my Hummer family along.

You know, I feel almost sick that most of you have shown face and won't go off road.

Whoa, hang on there metal, I didn't say anything about not wanting to go offroad. I bought my Hummer for the same reason you bought yours - to off-road the hell out of it.
I was saying that I looked into Nemacolin and I thought why pay to ride for only a short period of time (2 hours seems pretty short to me) when I can get hooked up with people in my area, like you, and go ride somewhere else for free and do it all day.
I read your post previously and people asked you and you still did not tell them where you went riding other than it is in PA. What's the big secret??

I'm in Lower Burrell. Have H1 & H2. Run various trails, mostly within 30 - 40 miles of this area, and occasional trips out east to Paragon. Contact me off-list if you're interested in any future runs.

Any Cochran customers on here plan on attending the Hummer Happening this coming weekend?
Also, we have a couple of trucks that will be having a weekend run here in Western Pa in the next month or so. Let me know if anyone's interested.

Next Paragon ride is November 4 and 5. I'd highly recommend it. It's somewhat of a haul for you western PA guys, but if you spend the night in Hazelton, I'm sure you'd think it was worth it. And there is usually always someone going up there, if not Hummers, Jeeps or other 4X4's.

Hummog, I am interested in the upcoming Western PA run. Out of town the next 2 weekends, but no more travel after that for the rest of the year.

We had a HH there last summer, it was a lot of fun.
They also took us out through some woods trails to find mud, and we found lots of it.
I've got some pics but not on this computer.

Why do you think that your planned event will be okay?
I have been trying to get people to join me in Hillsville for months. Well it seems that long.
But nobody wants to take their rig off road.

Not sure where Hillsville is. We go to Paragon, http://www.paragonap.com/index.htm which is about as good as it gets in the east. I have enough trucks lined up so that we met the minimum. Now I throw out the invites to anyone who wants to join.
When I go with people, we stay at their comfort level. Ask Yat.
Plan for that weekend to join us. It will be a blast. There are several hotels in Hazleton to chose from, but most stay at the Fairfield.

Attended No.1 Cochran's Hummer Happening this past weekend. The event was held at the BeaverRun Motorsports Complex, in Wampum Pa. Good event and good turn-out of trucks. Probably 20 trucks, mostly H3's and mostly owners new to the world of off-roading. I informed the group about this site since no one seemed to be aware of it, and hopefully some them will start chiming in and participating in more events. All the attendee's were from right here in the general Pittsburgh/Monroeville area.
I guess the folks on here that have already chimed in must be customers from Wright!
Anyway, those of us from Western Pa here need to start getting together more often and doing some wheelin.
