View Full Version : Gas Hog!?!

I had my H3 parked at the hospital the other day and when I came out there was a note on my windshield. Someone wrote gas hog on it. The funny thing is that I was parked next to a full size ford pick-up that I know gets worse gas mileage than my H3. It is just sad that people are ignorant and just assume that every Hummer gets 4 mpg. My Xterra got worse mpg than my H3 but I don't see anyone ganging up on Nissan owners, well they do, just not for that.

When I was in Las Vegas, someone left an entire dialog on my windshield. It said I should be ashamed for owning an H1! It was all written on a ripped piece of paper and H1 and H2 must have been written 10 times... never a mention of a H3. They didn't even know what type of Hummer it was. We also have a Jeep Grand Cherokee that happens to take more gas then my H3. People just think HUMMER and don't care to know the facts.

Dammm tree huggers are really stupid, I'm shure that you're H3 had H3 on it in at least 3 places on it.

Guy next to me gassing up the other day started in on me about my "Gas Hog". I pointed out I had a smaller engine than his Honda Pilot.

Acutally I just looked and I have the same size engine, but 1 less cyl than he does.

RE: the new commercial write-up:

Didn't it say something about how they are going to emphasize the fact that it is lighter and consumed less gas?

(EDIT: I can't find that thread)

I met this hippie chick the other night (I have long since left the hippies in Colorado... :D) and she told me I need to reduce oil dependence, why do I drive an H2? I said because I'm supporting the only automaker doing the most to create affordable hybrid technology, a viable and affordable Hydrogen system by 2010, and supports E85 technologies. She said that those systems were no good!!! Haha, I was baffled. She couldn't give an answer, because she said it took oil to make any of those systems. I said, yes, but once they're established, we can stop using the oil. That apparently wasn't good enough. Luckily, my friends attacked her for being stupid as well, so it worked out ok.

Well she was definetely wrong about E85. The only reason 15 percent gas is added is so some hippie won't be found lying under the fuel tank taking a drink.

Just got back from a little weekend in the Adirondack Mtns in NY. Got about 20.5 mph on the tank. All "highway", some interstate 90, but most, 2 lane thru the hills. Not a lot of stop and go though. Not bad!
No roof rack, not much over 70, no A/C used. Pretty light/even foot on the gas.

I hope when my new H3 gets here in Sept I don't have that happen to me. My answer to him would have been.............................................. .

Same gas station today. This time an older feller came up and wanted to look the H3 over. He really liked it. Then after he went back to his car, another feller walks by with a coffee and says "Nice". Better crowd today. :D

Ignorance is bad enough, but the Boulder "hippy-crites" really piss me off. Seems like everybody up there drives their beater jeeps and volvos or luxury SUVs that get worse mpg than an H2 or H3, but they still hate hummers "because of the gas mileage"

My personal opinion is that the lefties/liberals/tree huggers hate Hummers because of the military connection. It's irritating to hear them damn the war and praise the military. At least they learned from their past mistakes.

Keep one thing in mind Hummer owners.... And this will never change....

This is the "United States Of America' This is a free country.. As long as you obey the law's of our Country you are free to.... be ..do..buy.. and live the way you want.

You are also free to critiicze and have any opinion about anything and speake or print about it.

Based on the above I say F_ _K The Tree Huggers..!! I'm driven what I want untill the Law says I can't.

I served my country and did what I was suposed to do. I ain't gonna stand for some A hole tellen me I shouldn't drive my Hummer..!! If there's one thing that ticks me off ......it's that. Don't Lecture Me..!!

Actually, I was reading in the Wall Street Journal that they are starting a new ad campaign for the H3 touting the mileage. About time! The manual trans H3 has higher mileage ratings than any off-road capable 4x4 except the Xterra.
