Figured I had some extra aluminum perfect thickness prob get 4 sets out of it for nothing.. might as well.. the hood and handle buckets will be a challenge unless their 3d scanned

on ebay they sell as low as $35
I originally measured and measured/cut and cut numerous times to come up with a pattern, then cut my inserts out of a sheet of 3M white reflective material. They work great and even glow in the dark when lights hit them. No problems with peeling/stealing/falling off for 2.5 years. I am now looking for the red/oroangs reflective material to replace the white lettering...thought that might be cool having an orange H2
But to save all the time making/cutting a pattern, (and I just recently did so) there was a guy on E-bay selling vinyl letter inserts...I think I bought them for less than $15 and I will now use his vinyl ones to cut out my 3M Orange reflective material letters.

This doesn't answer your question but have you guys seen the letters that are painted red, white and blue. Looks like a flag waving in the wind. Very cool patriotic look on a Hummer.

Hum2, where did you find the sheet of 3M reflective material?
Since I did nearly the same thing, but not having a sheet of the material, I used 1.5" wide white reflective tape. I just overlapped the top and bottom pieces. It doesn't look bad, but the seam is there. (You only notice it when you walk up close to the bumper, it does not affect the reflectiveness.)
If I can locate the sheet type, I can make the letters seamless, I would prefer that instead.
Hummm...it was at a local "sign" company. They did all kinds of signage, even some minor electric signs...but just a small mom/pop organization. I don't remember where, but I will be looking again soon for the orange to replace the white. They sold it to me for (I think) $12 a foot, I think I bought either 1 or 1.5 feet and got 2 and 3/4 sets of lettering....that would depend on how wide their sheet/roll is. It is supposed to last 5 years...I'm going on 2 and it looks as good as new.

If I was doing letters, I'd prefer the ones (as seen on the forums in '03) with the stars n' stripes theme.
I'll check to see if that kind of vinyl is available while I'm looking for the various 3m reflective colors.
