OK, so I've moved to Los Angeles and I NEED to take the H3 in to get the fix for (or at least make better) the marker light vibration.
Any recommendations from the Southern Cal Hummer owners on the best dealer in the area? I'm closest to Penske Hummer or Cerritos Hummer.
Thanks,
Karl

Try Team Hummer and Chevy in Pasadena (on Colorado Blvd.).
I bought mine there and had it in once for oil change etc. no problems

I bought mine at Penske and except for a little trouble with the service dept. last time, they've been very helpful, quick, and reliable. Sherman Oaks Hummer I've heard is also good.

As I understand it, many of the dealerships have improved tremendously the last year or so.
But the grandaddy of em all is CERRITOS HUMMER with the undisputed Hummer Guru, Mike Sabaresse as their current pit boss. Understand that I'm talking competency here (:perfect10s:), not price (it's still a stealership... :jump:)

Karl, from what I've heard, the new marker light sets aren't in yet. I'm waiting to get some put on mine, but the dealer said the 'new ones' haven't been approved yet. I checked in person yesterday. I know you just need a fix, but maybe if you wait they'll put a new set on yours. BTW, you're a USC Trojan and you're just NOW moving to the L.A. area???:giggling: Where've you been?? :D

There is a more "robust" fix due out in the third quarter that should repair the problem for good. In addition, new parts will be released for the new kits that will be eventually released.

I second Team Hummer as an excellent choice for sales and service.
Mark Christopher Hummer in Ontario was decent as was West Covina Hummer (they are greatly improved ever since they split from Clippinger Chevrolet...THEY were a NIGHTMARE!!!)
Cerritos Hummer was OKAY..they didnt have a lot of inventory, but I think they are connected/ownd by Penske Hummer (see below)
Hummer dealerships to avoid:
Penske Hummer in Torrance: Dishonest and misleading...a little arrogannt also.
Wesleoh Hummer in San Juan Capistrano: Way too overpriced in both sales and service

My dealers big 40+ inch plasma feel from the wall the day I was there picking up my H3. Those things sure do break easily, and make a lot of noise in the process. I guess the company that installed the TV just drilled holes into the drywall...no anchors. TV was installed for a hour or two.:dancingbanana:
Lucky, no one was in the waiting room.

Penske Hummer in Torrance also has big service bays and appears to be spotless. Their customer service waiting rooms - two of them, have big wall mounted plasmas, fresh donuts in the mornings, coffee, hot chocolate, sodas and water .. newspapers, etc. LOL. Great place to wait. ;) Haven't been to Cerritos yet. Casa Hummer is in Sherman Oaks has a great service dept .. though not much of a customer service waiting area, if any. :shhh:

Thanks for the replies. I'll probably head over to Cerritos because it's the most convenient. This will be warranty work so shouldn't have to fork over any $$ yet.

No kidding. We left in '99 and have just moved back ... don't know what in the hell convinced us to move back. Guess it's a love hate thing with LA.
Cheers,
Karl

Exactly. ;) BTW, I had visited Cerritos Hummer over the weekend for the first time. They have two showrooms. They have a great looking Fusion Orange H2 in the larger of the two showrooms. The service dept was closed (Sunday), but I looked in and it looked pretty good. While there I saw an H2 brought into the service dept area with two slashed tires (passenger side). What a sight and very sad that someone would have done that. :crying: Good luck to you and welcome back to L.A! :D

Hey guys, I know I don't post much, but I read every morrning. Besides, I am not am off roader...I'm a bling-bling king! Having said that, I wanted to add my story to the light fix. I added the yellow marker lights, and continued to have major wind and vibration noise from the lights. This was even after the "so called GM fix." Well, after six more holes in the roof, my dealer moved the lights all the way back against the XM antenna...THAT FIXED IT! They even look better. I have had it to the rev limiter in various wind situations and directions...works like a champ! That's my story and I'm sticking to it! Have a fantastic H3 day!
