Off-Road Event

I went on a dealer sponsored off-road event last weekend. It was at Sayersbrook Bison Ranch in Potosi, MO. They have about 50 miles of trails with varying difficulty. I think several Jeep groups built most of the trails. It was a good time. I thought that some of the trails were pretty tough, although, I'm just a beginner in the off-road department. I am learning though. I know these trails don't even compare to what some of you have been on.

Very cool, those trails look fun. I was at an Off-Road Event by Hummer of Orlando last weekend, wasn't quite like that, but still fun. Had ~100 Hummers at ours, how was the turnout there?

Nice pics! The very first obstacle I went on with my H3 I bent back the rear license plate and scraped the bumper.

Looks like a great time thanks for sharing pics. The event DEI and I were at last weekend didn't have anything challenging but the sand pits were fun :excited:

VERY COOL!!! I was invited and planned on going but had a death in the family. I'll be there next time for sure!! A couple of friends of mine were there in thier H1 Alpha and H2.

Yep, I am going with my Hummer dealership this weekend 23rd & 24th to Big Bear.... One of the trails we are doing is the Holcomb Trail... I'll make sure to post pictures.....

There were quite a few Hummers there. I would probably guess about 100.

I know there are a lot of Jeep events there, but I guess they don't maintain the trails too well. I think a lot of the Jeep events are on the rock garden.

Yeah, I'm not that upset about the bumper, but what really aggravates me is that there were 2 guys standing behind me when I went through the ditch and they just watched it happen instead of spotting me. It's not like they didn't have time to react. I was barely crawling through it. I guess I should only go off-roading with people I know and trust!!

Modify your rear plate with a piano hinge it will swing out 90 degrees:D

There were a couple pretty technical parts on the trails. There was one part where you had to go through about 8-10" deep thick mud, then go up a steep, very smooth hill. Everyone with AT tires had a tough time because your tires would pack up with mud, then you couldn't get any traction on the hill. We ended up having to get a good run at it. I got a video of it. It's not very good, but I will try to figure out how to post it.

There was also a section where they said that they rolled an H2 last year. There was about a 6 foot wash out to the left and trees to the right.
It was funny though because since the trails were mostly built by the Jeep guys, the H3's were the only ones that didn't have to make 4 point turns at every bend!!:D I think the H3's had a much easier time on the trails than the H1's and H2's.

Also, I think I have my friend sold on the H3. He said that he is going to buy one now. He couldn't believe some of the stuff that we went through.:D

Sorry to hear that. Lynch does a pretty good job. They do an event every spring and fall and they provide lunch and dinner. Everything is free!!

Modify your rear plate .I noticed its a good idea to also remove the front plate, Mine snaped off once already(little scuff under hooks).

I havent pushed the 3 to the limits like others here. I havent taken the steps off yet,only small scuffs at this point .

I was real surprise to hear from a number of H3 owners this last weekend that the dealer told them they didn't need to take off their steps for the happening. They were removing all the H2 steps but wouldn't do the 3s. I know of at least one of the dealer's H3s that has a bent up step on it:twak:

No doubt.....must have something to do with the fact that the cater to rappers and drug dealers......all I ever see when I go in is 22's, spinners, etc...:mad:

Wow, Lynch wouldn't let you on the trails unless you removed your steps. They would even do it for you.

All week before the event at the dealership, the evening before at the hotel and the morning of the event they were removing steps on the H2s. It was in the invitation that they would do it on the H2s but not on the H3s. I think it is probably because they are a little harder to get off of the 3 than the 2 but I thought it was pretty lame. Didn't really matter to me since I have the rocker rails instead though.

I would have destroyed my steps on these trails. There were a lot of stumps and rocks that you had to go over. I was even more upset that Rocky Road screwed me on the rock rails. There was 1 stump that I came over and it was about a half inch from smacking the rocker panel.

Just mount it using the bottom holes on the plate. Gets it up out of the way.

I dont think I like that look and by beach stickers underneth so it will be visable. (not realy a bad thing it shows I offroad to the blingers)Maybe next time I will try it see how it looks.
I have a rule ,If I airdown I remove front plate otherwise I take my chances.:D My plate frame is strong It didnt brake last time plastic nuts poped out,.(I have a bag full off spares)

I was at Lynch Saturday Morning ready to take off with the caravan when I got the call my daughter had gone into labor! As much as I wanted to go on the event I wouldn't have enjoyed it worrying about everyone. it was just my wife and myself providing support for my daughter.
