Here come all the questions I am having about my new H3. My stereo seems to not have the best reception even on the channels that generally have a very strong signal. PO installed that ghey billet antenna mount, could that have anything to do with it? Anyone else have this issue. By the way, all chrome and lame will be removed promptly. Thanks in advance for all your help!
Side note: I love it overall, and mountain trip this weekend will give her a chance to prove her worthiness and capability off road and in snow. Cant wait. Stay tuned for snow pics. :beerchug:

The antennas do have a tendency to back themselves out of the mount. You may want to check to make sure its screwed in all the way.

It seemed pretty solid, but I will check it out further today in the light. It wasnt that bad, but there is a few stations here that play clear everywhere within a 200 mile + radius of Los Angeles and it had some static. No backing out at the head unit? right? :beerchug:

I've listened to some without the antenna and the strong stations come in good. Maybe the antenna came out of the radio under the dash?

I was hoping to avoid trying to fish at that wire, I dont want to have to pull dash. I dont want to deal with waiting on the dealer to fix either. One way or another I have to figure something out. :beerchug:

I was reading the service manual the other night. It says the H3 also has an antenea in each back side window (and somewhere else) along with the antenea on teh front right.
If I remember it uses differential reception. Where it picks which one has the strongest signal.
I'm at work right now and don't have the books with me.
You may have a bigger problem than a loose connection.
Anyone know anymore about this?
I was trying to figure out what the antenea does that's hanging off the base of my rear view mirror and found this.

Every time i go into my garage the antenna hits it and like flings every time think thats going to ruin my radio reception in the long run at all. Personally i dont think it would make any difference, because the wind does the same thing, but it can never hurt to be too sure.

Make sure your outside connection is tight. Then with a strong light. Open the passenger door and look in. Verify the connection thru the body is tight. You will see it as it exits. The other way to the radio it is only a 4' jumper of coax wire/cable. Unless the previous owner pulled the radio the connection under the dash should be solid. If you decide to pull the radio to check that plug in. Unless you have really skinny long arms! See F5s thread on installing navigation system. Not that hard to do. Good luck!:)
