The quality of the pictures suck, but you get the idea.

The tires are 35x12.5 ProComps, mounted yesteday :)

Thanks, guys!

None of you has made fun of the fact that I'm using eye-bolts to hold my 60-inch Hi-Lift onto my roof rails. That is very kind of you (all) :)

I just got the Hi-Lift and that I didn't have any 4-inch bolts laying around but did have some eye-bolts. You know how it is with kids and new toys :)

For coolness alone, I'd choose an H3 over an FJ anyday. Your setup looks really nice!

Sharp lookn' rig. Those 35's just make the truck:D

Great truck! Which Procomps do you have? Sorry I can't tell from the picture. How do you like them so far?

Thanks

I really like those Xtreme All Terrain Pro Comp's...how do they perform on the road? Also, are they actually 35x12.50 or the metric 315/75's (I know they both are close to the same size, I was just wondering)? How is your ride now with the larger tires? Do you have a leveling kit or did you turn your torsion bars? Great looking rig, I love everything about it (including the roof rack attached with the eye bolts)! If you get a chance, can you post some more pics? Sorry so many Q's...I am considering going with those same tires. Thanks for your input.

The tires are in fact 315/75/16 Pro Comp Xtreme All Terrain. I've only driven them on ice, in a thin sheet of mud, and a little bit of off-road climbing. They were awesome in every circumstance. Nearly back-to-back with the stockers, the Pro Comp's climbed up the same mushy hill with relative ease. This may change as they wear, but they make very little highway noise.

The roof rack is actually just two Thule bars wrapped with foam pads to help my kayak stay snug. The Hi-Lift gives the appearance of a roof-rack, since it runs between the front and back bars. If I bought a roof rack, it would probably be the Discovery with the light bar attachment. Depending on the height of the new lights, I would probably just "steal" the wiring for the factory light bar and then cap off those lights.

Unfortunately, I'm going through a divorce and the court-ordered rules of conduct prohibit frivilous expenditures. The tires were "necessary" for the safety of the children :) Whatever :)

I can't remember what kind of wheels they are (dealership installed), but I think that someone else figured it out about a year ago when I first posted pics. They are powder-coated. For now :) The powder-coating is starting to come off.

I'll try to take some more pics today...

Here are some additional pics as requested. Also, I don't have a lift. The front is cranked about a bajillion times. When I got the new tires, the installer was a little frustrated at how far out of spec the alignment was. :)

Sweet off-road pictures...looks like a fun place to wheel. I know this sounds a little picky, but if you get a chance, can you post a pic of the rear of your H3 (one from directly behind the truck)? Or one that shows how far they stick out from the front or back fenders? I love those 35's you put on it, I just noticed one picture you posted looked like they stuck out a little farther than I thought...I guess all 35's are beefy tires, though. It would be greatly appreciated, but no rush. Did I mention I like your H3?:)

Sure, I'll take a pic, possibly tomorrow, straight on from the rear. Thanks again for the compliments.

The location of the pics is an old ranch that is being turned into a high-end neighborhood. I was able to sneak through the gates that are normally locked and climb over the curb to the old ranch roads beyond.

Honestly, I just let go of the wheel and let the Hummer do what Hummer's do best: find stuff to climb. My H3 was driving himself around when I took the pictures. Sort of like Herbie the Love Bug's distant cousin: Thor the Warmongering Assault Vehicle of Hatred. Okay, I'm full of crap.

I have the pics from the back, but my cell phone provider (Verizon) appears to be having some network problems currently.

I'll try again tomorrow.

The tires stick out more than I realized. That must be why my brief mud hog session so thoroughly covered the side panels :)

I work with an FJ owner. He's proud of his rig. He tells all the other cops how much he likes it and how capable it is.

I have noticed that he NEVER parks next to my H3, ever. If the only parking space open is next to me, he parks in front and walks around.

Actions speak louder than words. :giggling:

Now that you've had your ProComps on for a while, what observations have you made with your gas mileage?

I still want to know about the wheels. What kind are they? What backspacing are they?

Pleeeeeeese tell us!

And if you don't know, shame on you. And find the hell out!

In what state do you reside? I use to work in family law in PA. In fact, I wrote my PhD dissertation on the subject. I have never heard that one before. Keep that statement in mind the next time you see her driving a sports car or wearing new jewelry- compliments of your "child support payments". States really should require receipts for where the support goes...

whoever says that the fj looks better than an h3 is either A: an fj owner, or B: a liar

imo there is no comparison. and your pic of them next to each other proves it. awesome rig man.

Yes it is! The way the FJ looks, if you grab it and pull it backward does it accelerate when you let it go?!

bada$$ rig you have! I looked at the FJ too, real glad I ended up with the H3. It has the "walk" to match the "talk" unlike most of the poseur SUV's out there..
