OK, I have the H3 in the garage, they will be done Friday, they hooked me up with a Impala (was better than the cobalt they offered first). The service department called and asked what they needed to do to make my satisifed with my purchase, I said I would think extending the warranty to 100,000 miles and they said "should be no problem, anything else?" I said I would call back tomorrow. What else can be expected? I was pretty damn pleased with the warranty extension, any thing else anyone can think of that woudl be fair?

Great KUDOS to Wright for taking care of me and my H3, they have restored some faith in their service department, back to rave reviews

I just had my head replaced last week..
Hey 2 heads are better than one!

Yesterday I got a call back from Hummer and they will send me a "component letter" (engine only) to extend the warranty to cover the whole engine for 7 years or 100K. (Whatever comes first).

They said I should recieve the letter in 2-4 weeks
I had opened a file with them before having the work done.

Anybody aware of somebody getting the "component letter"/extended warranty on an H3 not yet experiencing the head problem?

I would like to know as well - especially if this is a common problem.

Scouts,

Can you tell me what "symptoms" you had on your H3 that led to the head being replaced?

When was your build date?

I bought mine from Wright as well in July 2006 (build date was April 2006), but haven't noticed anything unusual yet. I am wondering whether I should just take it in for them to check it out.

I was driving my 3 and stopped at a stop sign and it stalled, would not re-fire. I coasted to the side of the road, shut it down and it started right up. About two weeks later my service engine light came on and off a few times over a few days. I called Wright adn ogt a date to get teh light checked out. The very next day I was driving it it shut off on my at high way speed, coasted to teh side, shut it down, fired it up and go about another 20 miles it did it again. Got home with no further incidents, next morning it would not fire up. Called Hummer roadside and they came and flatbed-ed it to Wright's.

The first time I had mine replaced I didn't notice anything wrong with the way it was running. the light had come on and I didn't know what was wrong with it. Onstar didn't find any codes so I took it to the dealer. They said something about bad compression in cylinder 3 (or something to that effect).

The second time- was running rough, sounded like it wanted to stall out.

Just got it back not too long ago and it's running fine now.....however I have another issue LOL. Had the instrument cluster replaced last week and now none of my interior lights work. Not a clue what they did to it this time.......I guess it's back to the service dept. I go!

Hey Dani. Not sure if you check or not but make sure the little button down by the light switch and fog light switch that controls the interior lights isnt pressed. If its pushed the interior lights wont come on when you open the doors. Just a thought.

I apologize and this is off subject, but did you have to pay for Hummer Roadside to come pick it up? Or is that part of the warranty deal? :beerchug:

I was pretty sure this was the case, but just happened to have the sales brochure next to me and towing is under warranty.:)

The towig was free under warranty, I am getting the 3 back tomorrow, they said they installed hardened head. I asked if it was hardened it meant it was E 85 compatable, he said what is E-85 then said i will have to check on it

I am getting the 3 back tomorrow

Lucky you, I am stuck with the G6 another damn week. The body shop found the leak, which I thought was coming from the door seal. No, it was coming from the windshield and was leaking down into the cab. Which was soaking my carpet under the mat. So Wright is replacing the carpet.

CV joint came in Thursday, while my rig was still in the body shop. Dan was MIA Friday, body shop guy called and said my rig would be ready in another week.

Heres a nutty thought;

You don't supposed that they are putting on a bunch of free exterior options do you? You know, to make me feel special?:violin:

Ahhhhh I can see my rig now with a new roof rack w/ 4 sided off road lights and ladder, winch and deck, new mud tires. Maybe they are painting it my dream color, metal flake olive green?:giggling:

I miss my rig!!!!:grouphug:

Yeah, all cynicism aside, ask for something for your time. I've seen plenty of instances (none of my own, I haven't had any major issues) where people w/weeklong fixes get a token UCP or rock rails, etc. You won't get it if you don't ask, so it never hurts

Token UCP?

Maybe I should call Dan the man tomorrow and express my feelings that I am upset that they have had my rig to long?
