The easy way of getting a shorter antenna is to just cut it to the desired height and spray paint it black. I cut mine to about 3" and painted it silver. I have no problem with reception if or when I go to AM or FM. I am mostly on XM so the stubby gives me no problems.:D

the only problem with the XM,like OnStar is that don't work here in Italy!;)

My stock atenna rubbed on some low duct work I have in my garage, so I replaced it with a cheap rubber ducky one that you can get at Auto Zone, Advance Auto, Pep Boys...
