Ok so I am looking at the h3, I drove one about a month back but I felt that it was underpowered. So I was told and knew about the alpha h3 and I thought the best bet would be to wait for one. Well now Ive read up more on the h3, and on paper its faster than my dads h2 which shocked me. If this is the case then for sure, I think that the h3 is powerful enough for me. Ive also heard of the pcm chip reflash, has anyone done it and do you feel its worth doing this modification? Im going to go drive one again sometime this week i think maybe I didnt get a fair judgement of the power in the h3 because my dad was with me during the test drive. He drives like a old man so I didnt wana scare him. What do you guys think I love the h3 either way its one badass truck. Will the alpha really be worth the extra money? and is the h3 truely faster than the h2? Im sorry if Im not making a lot of sense its 1 in the morning and I just got in one of those car thinkings moods. Thanks

the h3 alpha will be faster that the 07-earlier H2s that dont have any super/turbo chargers or other major performance modifications. But rememebr the 08 H2 is also getting a new bigger engine which i think might/will beat out the H3 alpha in a race.

H3 right now is pulling 0-60 in 11.8 i bieleve. so it isnt quick but it wasnt deisgned for that an the H3 will have a significant increase in power. My whole life my parents have had fast cars, my dads had porsches and the mini cooper 2 limited edition now hes driving the porsche turbo, but that didnt stop me from the H3 becuase i knew the car wasnt designed for speed it was designed to get you anywhere you need to go. Its got enough power for me to get to school, to the lake or beach, and to the airport. and the offroading. So if your truly concerned about the speed and feel issue wait for the H3 alpha, drive it and then see weather you want to get the H3 alpha or just the H3, and anyway you'd winding up getting an 08 model that way. So you cant go wrong doing that.

Hell yeah! get the AWD SRT-8. It isn't worth taking off road, but it does 0-60 in less than 5 seconds.

Current H2 and current H3 are both in the same class of slow street rigs. New upcoming engines will change that for both.

I am also waiting for the Alpha before i buy.
I went friday to check the H3 on the highway...It wasn't as bad as I thought. I now have the opinion that the standard I-5 will work for me (I already have a c5 corvette and a Hemi Durango for speed :D )

The reason I am waiting now is that I think the rebate, currently at $3,500, will increase to $5,000 or more. I don't know about you guys, but where I live, the H3 are just sitting on the lot. I have been in to my Hummer dealership 4 seperate times to talk and test drive and I have always been the only customer on the lot. My dealer currently has probably 50 H3's on the lot.

With gas creeping up to $3.00+ around here, my bet is that GM will be stuck with a ton of inventory coming out of the summer. My bet is big deals for those of us who want this rig and don't care about MPG's :dancingbanana:

:iagree: where are you, all teh dealers in teh chicago area have lots of inventory but it looks like they are moving. But still because of gas prices alot of people are gona back off and incentives will proobably rise, or at least you will be able to nagotiate better.

Hey guys I'll just wait till the 08 models come out. I actually drove a grand cherokee srt8 about 6 weeks ago It was nice but I wasn't overly impressed. It was nice and fast enough but It just lacked something, I would rather own a hummer than the jeep. Im not looking for an suv thats a sports car I will be trading in my 2004 nissan 350z, so Ive done the sports car thing.
My father has owned two h2's and a h1, Ive always loved driving them, The h1 was slow as all get out it was an 03. The h2's tho I have always felt have had good enough pick up. I dont expect the h3 to be a corvette, i just want it to be able to merge into traffic easily. Is the current h3 faster then the h2 in a 1/4 and in the 0-60? . Has anyone raced there h2 or h3 vs one or the other? both factory? thanks

Take your time and get what you want, good luck getting a deal on a v-8. The Stealers are already licking chopps to put the wood to people and ordering them loaded 40k rigs

oh for sure! the best thing you can do when buying any car is to take your time. I would never rush any car purchase... unless it was an absolutely ridiculous deal. but I just see this black h3 on my way to my gf's house everyday. It has black rims and 35's, the guy is always going off-roading. It loves to taunt me haha.
