I have seen posts in here before on this subject so I thought I would post it here and see the results! Tonight I am meeting someone who wants to part ways with their 2007 H3. :excited:
Here is the link to it...
http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.jsp;jsessionid=GRWZFXDWCDPN3LAYIERU2UY;?tra cktype=usedcc&searchType=21&pageNumber=0&numResultsPerPage=50&largeNumResultsPerPage=0&sortorder=descending&sortfield=PRICE+descending&certifiedOnly=false&criteria=K-%7CE-%7CM-_363_%7CD-_7911_%7CN-N%7CR-100%7CI-1%7CP-PRICE+descending%7CQ-descending%7CZ-64151&aff=national&paId=228046630&recnum=1&leadExists=true
And I was wondering if this is a deal or not! The owner used to work at Hummer of Kansas City and is parting ways with it to purchase a Harley!

Not a bad deal. I just saw this on eBay. It's a combo truck, and they're not easy to find. If you knock $1,000 off I'd says it's a good deal. Get them down to $31,000 and it's a really good deal.
BTW, he's willing to take $31,900 on eBay or best offer, so I'd knock him down as low as you can go!

Hammer the price, plenty of this type of inventory out there.

I think so too and I appreciate the response! I am not too keen on all black and I am still kind of interested in what the 2008 might have to offer, and this doesn't necessarily mean the Alpha! Also there are a few add-ons that I might want to get - the infamous light bar and the roof racks, but those are dealer add-ons, so no big worry! However, the price is right and the initial depreciation hit is gone!

WAY OVERPRICED !!!!!!!!
Factory Invoice as built is $34557 minus $1000 = $33557 (NEW)
A fair price would be $26845 for a USED H-3

You'd have to have an H3 with 10,000-20,000 miles in bad condition for it to bring $26,000 at auction, particularly in the midwest. I think this truck is fairly priced. But, if you don't like the color, and are patient, you might find another one you like better.

All of the options are what I want, and black is worth considering! However I don't want to rush into something especially at the first offering! :D I would probably offer 31-32 for it.

You gotta go with what you really want, otherwise you might regret it. :beerchug: But this does seem like a good deal. Especially on a 2007, because you're getting the 5yr/100K warranty, and you could get a GMPP issued to extend the full vehicle warranty.
My ex had a nice black-on-black H3, and though I didn't really like the color scheme at first, I came to love the truck so much it didn't matter... :dancingbanana:
If you're going to look at it, it goes without saying, DRIVE IT! Let go of the wheel on a straightaway and see if it tracks straight. Check the tires for any damage. Look at the roof! Take a look underneath, make sure nothing is banged up, bent, etc. Make sure the transfer case shifts in and out of 4Low and 4HI. Try it a few times. Look for any oil that might be dripping from the transfer case, front and rear differentials, bottom of the skid plate. Not that the last part matters too much, it's still under warranty.

OK !
Look at it the way. He's asking $33000 (or $31900 on e-bay) for a truck you can buy BRAND NEW for $33557.
You all in the mid-west aren't using very good logic...
Where is the incentive to buy used...
If not $26000 or $27000, maybe $28000, NO MORE

With a combo pack? I still think it's a pretty good deal. Even with a GMID, you still have to find a combo truck. And most have too much extra crap on them.

Ok, here's the scoop!
The H3 was purchased in October 2006 for approximately 39k, but as he worked for Hummer, I'm not sure what deals he got. The vehicle looks brand new, both interior and exterior. He has the roof racks but are not on the vehicle as it wouldn't fit in his garage with them on. The interior is in excellent condition.
It almost sounds too good to be true! I am a bit on the fence as I like the changes that are coming out in 2008, like the standard curtain bags and other safety features, plus various cosmetic changes. Now these might be concessions that I can live with! :D
I didn't think I would like the black, but it looks really cool, especially with the ebony leather!
I am seriously thinking about this! I am also thinking of a best offer of 30k. Probably just need to talk to the significant other and sleep on it...I meant sleep on the bed for all those whose mind's are in the gutter...which is most of us!! :D
Thanks for all your help!

Like my father always said ...if it sounds too good to be true it probably is! You are so close to the 2008 year, I have been waiting for ever to order an H3 and am getting itchy (I should go see a doctor about that:giggling: ) but I am going to hold off if for nothing more than seeing what is out there new (2007) on the lot as the 2008 starts to get ordered. Unless your local dealer has nothing on the lot I am pretty sure they would be willing work on some kind of deal.

Just to let you know, he is not a Hummer employee. I'm guessing with his location, he is possibly employed in the GM Kansas City plant; giving him the GM employee discount. His is similar to mine in equipment, and the sticker is about the same, I paid around 33K.

I will drive to Williamson HUMMER, valet park, walk in and see a person in middle management i know and get a quote.
I'm guessing they have 50 to 60 H-3's in stock (mix of 06 & 07)
I believe they (Williamson) is one of the largest movers of HUMMERS in the USA (not the largest, one of)
Now Williamson and Vera HUMMER, just over the county line both contribute to the group advertising fund (or wharever its called) so the final price will include the advertising contribution.

Why would you want to buy used?U can get brand new for dam close 2 the same price.Plus U will not have somebody elses ASS JUICE on your seats. That has got 2 be worth spending a little more on a new one or should i say 3.
I agree with you there, however used can be a good option if the mileage is low and not too old! The initial depreciation hit is gone and you pretty much get a brand new vehicle for less.
Now I realize after doing more homework that the price is similar without much difference, hence my thinking is now to go new.

F5, he was a salesman at Hummer of KC until December 2006.
I am not pleased with Hummer of KC at all! Last night the salesperson was clueless, albeit new, but I knew more about the H3 than he and the GM combined! The GM was rude, inconsiderate, not customer friendly, and insulted both me and my girlfriend.
While looking at a lux/adv H3, the salesman told me that the tires were the 32" tires and that this model didn't have the ZM6 package! I was blown away!
I am not at all impressed with Hummer of KC, who is affliated with Superior Chevrolet. I guess I need to move back to Denver, but then again Medved Hummer, from what I've read, is not much better! :D

Sad part is MOST sales people do not know the product they are selling, and now with the Internet, the buyer can be better informed than years ago.

They try hard with Hummer, you must pass all classes on product knowledge before you can take part in any bonus programs, and that goes for the dealer too. Most stores turnover is around 60-80% so it is almost imposiable to keep them around. Only a few make enough money to stay without burning out. I was selling during the honeymoon peroid of the H2 release. I was sent to 5 schools for intense product knowledge, demo, customer study, and flat out fun. I would not want to be a dealer at this time with Hummer due to the lack of product line to sell. They need the 4 and a Hummer Certified sales program for used rigs so you can make money. Like with anything, trust is earned not given freely. Double check what your dealer does, ask questions, ask to meet service advisor and the tech who works on your truck. If you seem involved your less likely to get hosed.

I get the feeling many of us are in the same boat, I will be 2 hrs from the dealers in my area, just need to choose one that seems to be the best, not always easy when they are so far away. I was getting the feeling from my contact with one dealer that he had forgotten me and or just didn't care, after my third e-mail I got a flood of info today...of course nothing I hadn't read here first! :D :clapping:
