Any news on 2008 order dates yet? I am tired of waiting for info from my dealers. I sent them the order info that was posted, they said thanks, they didn?t they have it yet... Do the dealers (sales people) try to find info on the vehicles they sell? Sorry, that was a gross generalization I am sure there are some that really know the product well and are just waiting for GM to pass along what they have. Any way I am just getting itchy palms again can't wait to finally see what's up for the next year!

Hmmm, Both dealers in my area say they haven't heard from GM yet, They both know that I am interested...I have been hounding them for months now. Guess I'll get back to them, again. Is there any reason why some would have the green light and others not?

I know that we start building 08's about June 20th time frame. I don't believe the plant has actual orders, but shouldn't be much longer before they are recieved. So I'd have to believe that orders are being accepted.

Usually the plant is the last to find out, or in the press. That's where we found out the price for the H3 when it first came out.

I went 2 the dealer 2day and they said GM decided 2 not put a V8 in the ALPHA....They said they were going with the 2.0 TURBO............:D

OK. That's a good one.

I got hit with a reality stick tonight.

On the TV, they're advertising '07 H3s at 0% financing and $750 cash back (ok, am I the only one that thinks a $750 incentive is silly on a $30k vehicle?)

I'm probably going to wait so that I don't have to pay a premium. If my dealer makes me a good deal now, I'll do it. If not, I'll wait. I'll live vicariously through you lucky rich folks!

I am just waiting to order a I5, too much bling on the Alpha for me, the V8 would be nice but I am too old to worry about taking someone off the line anymore, give me a little diesel and I would be fine. Hell I can't even find an '07 on the lot that doesn?t have something I don't want like too much chrome, I don't like polishing that much, I figure the dirt helps keep the paint lasting longer, that's what I have done on the old jeep and still not a spot o' rust even after ten years. :jump:
All you dealers...especially mine... let's go I am feeling like a little kid that's standing at the candy counter:D :D :D

Does this mean that my guy is giving me the run around??? (per sales at my dealer this morning)
"We all get the order availability at the same time as it is internet based. We still have no order guides, no allocation numbers or dates yet. GM emails the dealer principal and sales manager when we can begin ordering.

Regards,"

If so I don't like how they are they are handling things so far:twak:

So I will give my dealer some slack...for now...
Not sure what earned early allocation is but assume that it is related to volume of sales and getting vehicles to the biggest demand areas first?

Guy is in Dallas he gets alot of invantory and firsts, smaller dealers do not have them in thier bank yet. Some may or may or maynot want to set you up at first if they belive they can make a killing on the first ones in. Go through GM buy power site and build what you want and then see who wants the biz near you. Bigger cities will have more and may be willing to work on price.

I was told pricing for the alpha would around $45,000-$47,000 fully loaded, donno how accurate that is. which isnt too bad, considering i paid a little less than $40,000 for mine, and its price is still growing through add ons.

I'm completely happy with the I5 for around town and wheeling. The only reason I'm going to get an Alpha is the towing cap. At 6,000 lbs. I won't keep saying I need to get another truck.
I can have my Hummer and tow with it too!

Now if they would just put a little bobtail bed on them like the SUT... BAM! Perfect vehicle. The H3T pics I've seen are stupid.

Someone posted a list a while back but I am not sure under what heading? if you want you could pm me and I can send it to you.
My dealer said he had some info and was going to pass along to his order guy but haven?t heard from him?(to my dealer in upstate NY, ?are you reading this? ?) Man when you get the H3 bug it sure does itch! :giggling:
There are very few H3?s in my area and it would be nice to be a little different for a while and spread the H3 infection around. :dancingbanana: :dancingbanana: :dancingbanana: :dancingbanana: :dancingbanana: :dancingbanana: :dancingbanana: :dancingbanana: :dancingbanana:

Do you guys happen to know whether Alpha will be offered in some sort of basic trim (cloth seats, little or no chrome, etc)?

I wish I knew about Alpha before I got my '07 H3 few months back; well, I do like my car a lot but surely wouldn't mind the extra 50hp & V8 under the hood. I don't care about gas mileage, don't have to commute or drive too far, so if it does 10 -12mpg, it is OK with me. Also, looks like Alpha is going to be offered only with automatic transmission? I wish 5-speed manual was possible; would be even more fun since H3 is exceptional vehicle; can hardly imagine having anything else, except maybe..H2? Anyway, I think that once local Hummer dealer gets Alphas, (wonder when) I'll go check them out and hopefully take a test drive too. I just feel dumb about possibility of trading-in few months old H3. If I could get basic Alpha model, maybe my loss on trade-in wouldn't hurt that much (but still probably $8-$10k loss, I can imagine..not sure if it's worth it, and my H3 runs just great - no issues).

The Alpha is what it is. Only thing you can do is add to it with things like a sunroof and Adventure package and so on. Can't take from it like alot of us would like to. I hate chrome but thats how it comes.

...I see; well I'd pretty much want that V8 option only (without the rest of the "Alpha" stuff), sounds like thats what many others would prefer too. Maybe GM will listen and offer us such a model down the road - a base H3 with V8 (or similar stronger engine), and maybe 5-speed manual to go with it.

Don't bet on it. Car companies want to make money/profit, something GM hasn't done a good job at lately.

yes, you may be right - otherwise they'd be already offering V-8 engine as selectable option (alongside the I-5 engine option) for all '08 H3's, so the vehicle could be ordered to fit everyone's needs - it would be nice, but I'll not be disappointed keeping my '07
