anyone had this yet .
after about 125 miles of rough off roading in a 10 hour period , i was on a gravel access road when all of a sudden the brake peddle starts modulating like abs kicking in and the truck would come to a abrubt stop . this is without me touching the brake pedal . stabili-trac seemed to engage and stop the truck . this happened about 4 times
i am getting the abs failure message along with stabili system failure and a traction failed message all along with a traction service message . has anyone else had all 4 messages on their DIC before ??
F5 and i have been trouble shooting with no luck :twak: have dis-connected battery , checked abs sensors , etc. etc.
guess i gotta go to salt lake mon . :(
if anyone has had this or heard of this , give me the details .
i also have this in the tech section but doubt everyone will see it down there :p

seems to only happen on loose surfaces . F5 followed me home on the pavement , we werent sure if it would try to stop the truck on the highway or not . luckily it didant but still have all the warnings on the info center . tne abs and stabili light wont go off and still getting service traction system after unhooking everything . looks like i will dealer bound tomorrow

Do you still have brake lights? Did you check the brake switch thingy?
When I lost my brake switch, I had service 4wd on the dic....not the same I know.

nope when i came to a screeching stop infront of F5 no brake lights but brake lights are fine when i apply them . its like stabili-trac is applying the brakes just out of the blue . i get a active handling clicking noise up front and a abs type surge . this is with my feet not touching anything .

Hey man,
Jeremy in the South Jordan location is the service guy to see! Don't bother with the SLC location they are a mess!
South Jordan is a far superior service location. I got a H3 loaner from them for the duration of the service work with unlimited miles (you will put quite a few on :D ).
As much wheeling as that truck has seen this summer and I'm not surprised something finally went south. That's a lot of bouncing around! :giggling:

Neo, I would call hummer cust service too. The 03 H2 had a wireing problem like this that caused a mini re-call. brakes would lock up on trucks that had off road lights and then tried to use a trailer brake/connector.
Aperson was thrown from a parade float. Thank god you have a specialist with you.

Neo -
Can you turn off stabilitrac and at least prevent the sudden braking? I know it's not a fix, but just curious if that removes the problem until you get it into the shop.

anyone had this yet .
i am getting the abs failure message along with stabili system failure and a traction failed message all along with a traction service message . has anyone else had all 4 messages on their DIC before ??
Yep - happening now:crying:
Until a few weeks ago, I was getting the stab sys failure, traction failed and ABS serv messages on the DIC intermittently... truck was running ok... anyways, bust a tie-rod a few weeks back (both replaced with 16mm units now ;) ) and forgot to mention what I felt was a sensor problem to the dealer.
Anyway, got it back and the warnings mentioned came on once, then back off ... BUT, mud / water the traction control comes on and basically brings the truck to a complete stop - even at like 5mph.... a bit of driving around and it does it again then nothing - seems it's only happening in the wet which makes me think a loose connection...
Anyone tell me where i can find the sensors and check the connectors?
I need to get it in to the shop, but I have a trip on Friday and I don't wanna miss it - it's been raining here, and that is not something we see often :excited:
Cheers

If you don't know where the sensors are, you probably shouldn't be trying to fix an ABS problem. You really need to have it scanned to know where to start looking. I'm not trying to be a dick, but It's next to impossible to fix an ABS problem if you don't know what the code is.

Thanks, but it ain't ABS, its definitely the traction control but you are right, no point in messing about with stuff when the dealer will do it for me ;)
.... anyway, we have progress :clapping:
Off to the dealer tomorrow morning to pick up the Workshop Manager and a Tech II, then round the back of the dealer where it's nice and muddy as it rained all day - guarantee that will start the problem.... to be fair, they reckon they have an idea now what it is (thanks Neo, as I passed the info here and on another thread to them :beerchug:) ... so it'll be up on the ramp and done and dusted by lunchtime - their estimate, not mine, so we'll see!!!

I have heard that sometimes when the reduced power/ traction failed light comes on it can also be a malfunction in the accelerator pedal. There is a module on the pedal that apparently can loose communication.
