I need to get at the back of the cig lighter. I figured that if the large plastic peice below the steering wheel could come off I could get at it from the side. Has anyone done this?

Hrmm...why from the side? Cig sockets easily available from center console...Center Console (http://elcova.com/groupee/forums/a/tpc/f/6706011751/m/5611053711) http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Paul,
You will have to move the center console to remove the lower left dash trim piece - there is a single bolt hidden behind the center console. At that point it would be easier to just remove the center dash trim plate to access the cigarette lighter.
