I found that letting it sit in the sun and running the air on re-circulate helps to preserve the smell. Also, we do not eat in mine either, so no to have that " McDonald's fry" smell.

Letting it sit with the windows up for a long period of time (obviously sitting in the sun will provide best results) will definately regerate that smell. I havent driven my Z06 since a week or two before thanksgiving..... we had a good rain a few days ago that washed the streets of all of the salt. Took it for a short ride yesterday and today...... still has that "new" car smell. Its a 2002 but its only got just shy of 15K miles

Go to your local funeral home and buy a bottle of formaldehyde then mix it with a 1:10 ratio with water in a spray bottle and spray the carpet.
or
There is a certain carpet cleaner I just cant remember what it is but that will give it that new car smell.
90% of the new car smell comes from the carpet.

Woollite carpet cleaner will give off a new carpet/vehicle smell....however it doesn't last but for a couple weeks.

I have 3 funeral homes, and i can tell you that formaldehyde smells nothing like new car smell, let alone its carcinogenic.

That new car smell your talking about is mostly from all the rubber/plastic/adhesives curing and giving off gas. Baking the car in the sun usually releases more of it, as you can see a slight haze on the inside windows...if you smoke in your car, thats just nocotine ;)
Autozone has new car smell in a bottle spray.

The bottle is called "New Car Scent", and it is available in any auto parts store. It is an air freshener. Ihave a bottle, and it works great.
Forget all the BS above. Most of the new car smell comes from leather seats, a tiny bit from plastic, nothing else. Not carpet. Ignore the formaldehyde nonsense. Pure insanity there. It is highly carcinogenic, and not easily available.
Surprised that nobody else here knows about this stuff. All used car dealers spray it in the vehicles.
