This is the second time (different door) that a door handle on my 2005 H2 has broken off! 2 of the bolts came out and the third looks like it was about to go too. The first time this happened i was hoping it was just a fluke, but now i think it's a flaw. Does anyone know if there has been a recall on this subject? Am i the only one that has this happen to them?

This is a known weak area that some vandals have used, consider the purchase of aftermarket Chrome or Black Chrome Door buckets which are better secured. Below is a source and I am sure there are others. ;)

thanks for the input.. i was looking to change them out but the price for the aftermarket pieces and the complexity of changing the guts from the old handles to the new ones.. if you know if someone sells the complete set with handles included, could you post a link ... i'll be calling the service dept. in a couple of hours from now, wish me luck.. thanks again for the input

here's an update:
I just called Pflueger Hummer of Honolulu to check on the status of my truck. They informed me that the door handle is not covered by my warranty and that the two other concerns (mirror not closing & rear windshield wiper not working) were working fine and they couldn't find any problems.
My question is if my rear door struts were covered a few months back why wouldn't the drivers door be covered?

Tell the wife/gf to stop grabbing the door handles and mirror when your bending her over the truck :D That's what the hood handles are for...

Before I replaced those handles I would try epoxy or JB weld, may be you can reuse them ?? Just my 2 cents. ;)
