There are several interfaces around. You only need the chime module if you want to continue to hear the annoying audible alarms...
Peripheral makes interfaces as well. Research around B4 you buy. Call cruchfelds for expert advice and products:popcorn:

anyone know if Axxess GMOS-01 Onstar Harness Adapter with Chime will work ?
I just bought this for my H3. I bought it to go with a new JVC touch screen. These are the products crutchfield suggests. But all you need to do is go to crutchfield.com, put in the info for your truck, find the deck you want, and they will tell you everything you need to go with it. The wiring harness I bought is pricey, but I want to maintain the factory features. You could go with a standard harness for $25. Hope this helps and shoot us some pics when you get your new unit in.
The antenna adapter: $9.99

The mounting bracket: $12.99

The wiring harness to retain the factory onstar and chime alerts: $99.99
