Has anyone had any issues with their suspension squeaking? I have a 2006 H2 Luxury and this happens typically at low speeds, however it could be because I can actually here it at these speeds. For example when I pull into my driveway the car will sway from the right turn I have to take and I constantly hear the suspension squeak. Could I need new suspension? The suspension when I go over bumps feels fine and the ride also feels fine. Any thoughts?

I think they all squeak do to the rough suspension the H2 has....I know mine does it and it's still like new w/ 30k on it and NEVER offroaded....LOL

Chris,

take a look at this old post. Mine would squeek at low, slow speeds- I thought it was the suspension too. It turns out its the body mounts that need to be replaced.

I had it done at the dealership under warranty. Now, no more squeeking.

Hope this helps.

Mine squeeking its brains out..and then the occassional metal to metal clunk.... very low speeds like parking etc ..... when I changed the front wheel bearings ... for the HUM ....the noise is gone.

I have a squeak too, that I am trying to figure out. It's in my left front and it does it when I am turning the wheel while it is under compression. Like on a trail when left front is on something so it is compressed. It is not while bouncing, like from bumps, it only does it when the wheel is being turned. I was thinking ball joint, and so I greased them, but they were not dry at all and it still does it.

I'll join the wagon and say I have a chirping sort of squeek coming from what I think is the driver rear area. I hear it mostly when shutting the door or going over railroad tracks, I've read that the shock towers sometimes do this, definatly not a clunking noise like some of you though.

It's not suppose to squeak. My service advisor told me the body mounts fail..which causes your squeaking at low speeds. They need to be replaced. I thought it was the shocks.
Anyways, from what I remember, another member posted that there was a TSB on this.

ya'll should check out that post that I linked.

The squeaking wasn't that big of a deal, but it sure is embarrassing when you're driving through a neighborhood and you go over a speed bump...and the pedestrians look over to see what's all the racket.

Hi It could also be the front axle mount their is a big steel washer between the mount and the axle and if that is dry it will make noise and it sounds like its coming from the rear, front all over it was driving me nuts. It would happen when stopping for a light or going forward and turning. It took me 1/2 hour to find it when the dealer couldn't. Hope this helps.
