Hello,
I was wondering if there's any problems/concerns with changing my '03 hummer h2 (85,000 miles) oil w/ royal purple synthetic oil and filter? Is the mileage to high to make to change over? FYI: I'm using 6 qt.s of 5w30.
Thanks in advance for your comments.

One more question how can I reset the oil change % figure on driver's display area?
Hi this tells you how to reset oil message.
GM Oil Life System
Press the fuel information button until ENGINE OIL LIFE
appears in the display. The GM Oil Life System shows
an estimate of the oil?s remaining useful life. It will show
100% when the system is reset after an oil change. It
will alert you to change your oil on a schedule consistent
with your driving conditions.
Always reset the engine oil life after an oil change. To
reset the Oil Life System use the fuel button to reach the
ENGINE OIL LIFE screen and then press and hold the
select button for five seconds while ENGINE OIL LIFE is
displayed. OIL LIFE RESET will appear on the display for
10 seconds to let you know the system is reset.
The DIC does not replace the need to maintain your
vehicle as recommended in the Maintenance Schedule
in this manual. See Engine Oil on page 5-14 and
Scheduled Maintenance on page 6-4.

FYI ,if the truck has used dino oil since new and you switch to SYN oil you may get leaks . You got a 50 50 chance . Also Royal Purple is great oil for high preformance high reving engins ,but is not going to give you anything in a stock H2. It is too $$$$$ for your stock H2 . If you want Syn oil Mobil1 or Castoroil Syn is cheaper and works as well in a stock engine. Save you money and spend it on something that you need . For the money Chevron Supream 10/30 works perfectly if you change it and the filter every 4000 miles . I have a 2004 Chevy 2500 HD with a 6.0 that has 312000 miles on it and has used Chevron Supream 10/30 since new ,and is still going strong .
