Paint chip repair question

I just got a paint chip 'bout the size of a pin head on my black '05 I've been trying for a week to fix it with touch up paint from the dealer and this product called Lanka.I also tried the 2000 wet/dry sandpaper on a pencil eraser(tip i picked up online) to smooth out the touch up paint.
The paint is so thin on my Hummer that when I try to smooth it out the paint will come out of the chip. I've let the paint sit for a max of 4 days like the instructions in the Lanka kit said but it still comes out.
It bothers me more since I know where it's at and the primer stands out like a sore thumb on the black paint. Why is the paint so thin on the Hummer. I know the chip is so small but it's buggin' the crap outta me.
Anyone got some tips on how to fix chips on a Hummer? Thanks

For a chip that small, I've got three words for you.

You may want to try your local auto paint store and ask for some adhesion promoter. It usually comes in a solvent form. All you would need to do is put a drop on the spot and wait a couple of hours, paint it and then you should be able to sand it into shape. The promoter will soften the primer (activate it)and allow the paint then "connect" to it again. Typically, most primers require topcoating within 24 hours to achieve the best adhesion.

I have used Lanka and it works great you haveto use easy pressure and always use the squeege. If some of the paint comes out of the chip reapply let dry do it again it will take 3 or 4 trys to completley fill the chip. Some paints dry quick than others and the dryer it is you the more elbow grease you have to into it this might be why the paint coming out of the chip. Try letting it dry for 40 hour or less then lightly use the squeege on it .

I can just picture it!!!! ILMAO. I know what VIP is talking about though. When I had my 03 and got it detailed and buffed by a detail shop, I was all happy that I didn't have scratches or anything. So I was pulled into the driveway (I usually backed in and pop the liftgate when taking the dogs to the park), I asked the kids (2 75lb labs) if they wanted to go to the park. The younger dumbass runs out of the house at full blast expecting to jump into the back of the truck. Well guess what, no truck to jump into. So what does he do? with one leap... Jumps on the hood and turns around and looks at me like "WTH did I just do?" I couldn't even be mad. I was in shock at then just started laughing. I just use the touch-up paint from the dealer in very smll ammounts and have no issues with it coming off.

Personally, I decided to skip the whole primer step and just dab it with factory paint and a toothpick. You're going to get a LOT more chips. I started out with 2 tiny ones in the first 3 months of ownership. After about a year, I got the truck thoroughly cleaned and found about 15 chips. None of them bigger than the head of a pin, but it seems to be a way of life with the H2. I kinda think it's a poor paint job tho - I never had that many chips in the entire 7 year lifespan of my last truck. I can't attribute all of them to the boxy design.
