I think a few folks here have made the swap. Use the "Find" feature of the forum... You should see a few posts on the subject.

There have been several to do it. We are doing it but We are putting a huge screen in the dash so that makes it harder than going with a screen that fits the dash hole. We pulled all the Bose out and will be for sale. Infinity a sponsor wanted a complete component system so We have all their speakers plus the 4 12" sub and 3 amps. We replaced the bose amp. It is not a fun job as none of the speakers fit the bose holes and had to be adjusted so We could use Infinity grills. If You just change out the 7" with like an eclipse it will go much easier and quicker. Not counting the dash having a 2 1/2"wide gap from top to floor hump and that makes it about 4 feet long. Go the easy way and Just replace what matches factory but, that is not what We do so We get a twisted kick in cutting all the mounting blocks out of the center of the dash so that You can never replace it with factory unless You spent many thousands to change the complete dash. But, this is so fun You would not ever want to change it anyway. But, seriuosly work with the factroy locations and it will be simpler and fun. Not to many problems with all the info on the site for You to do a search about.

The NAV antenna mounts under the dash facing the windshield.

Part number 15230099 should work in your 2003.

You will need to add a VSS circuit to the radio connector wiring harness. Also, if you are looking at a used unit, there is another problem. The unit will be locked to the VIN of the vehicle it came out of. GM dealers can unlock them with a Tech 2. However, since a 2003 H2 did not come with NAV as an option, the unlock option will not be available on the tool.

The dealer can tell the Tech 2 tool that you have a 2004 H2 which will allow the tool to unlock the NAV unit. In the past some dealers have either not been able to unlock the NAV units, while other dealers have no problems at all.

Don't forget you need the DVD NAV Disc as well. They are expensive.

no from what i hear is that you can "burn" a copy and it will work

I have found that only about 60% of the Delphi/denso units will work with the burned nav disc (either 3.0 or 4.1). The lasers in some of the units are just not good enough and will error out all the time. If you are considering the oem unit, just be sure to get the right one for your truck (lux or non), and you will likely need to have a dealer program it for your truck with the Tech II once it has been installed. Mounting the antenna is cake. You may want to look at some aftermarket units as well as they will offer a far greater range of options and possibly cost less than the oem.
