Yup, released, but it does not come with the locking cap as reported. It will be optional..
Originally it was to be a package.

According to GM parts it has not been released yet. Where did you hear this?

Hey KC,
You guys get some Slate Blue H3s in? I saw that forum member Grendel (from KCMO) posted a pic of one his fiancé just picked up yesterday.

That was our first one. It was a sold order and they picked it up pretty quick, had a few people that wanted to see it but they were too slow to get here and see it.

Figured that unless they drove across the state to Lynch they must have gotten it from you guys. Keep them coming http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Got mine last week, just wish it was a locking cap.
Well, that makes sense to me now because I have seen on the internet the GM Chrome Gas Cap "No Locking Cap" and that the locking portion was optional.
Now I ask you, other than "Bling" purposes, WTF is the purpose of that expensive piece of $hit gas cap? I mean almost $300 (installed) for a small piece of chrome? That's insane! It better lock for that much!
I'm glad I read this as I will be going in this week to purchase some additional goodies...and this will not be one of them now. Damn it! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

You got all the other chrome it looks like, why not just complete it?
I'd rather put the $300 to the chrome wheels (which I'm kicking myself for not getting) than the non-functional chrome gas door.
The only reason I wanted the door in the first place was the locking part. The chrome was just gravy on top. I'd take the look of the "original" gas cap, but I hate the fact it doesn't lock. Too many a-holes out there that get into jealous fits and screw with other people's property...heh, you down with OPP? http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Wasn't going to get the chrome wheels but did at the last minute, so glad I did then.
What is OPP?

When you go back for your other goodies, take a look at one H3 that has the cap and see if that doesn't change your opinion.

Yep. Thats why I suggested to go see one, especially if you have the crome package....

You can install this in 15 minutes yourself
the MSRP is 165.00
benefits...I will keep the crud out of the gas opening... and in snowing states, make it easy to fill up with getting water in the tank. This area is prone to collection of snow and water...
While I have no doubts that I could install it myself, I was going off of what Georgemarc had stated in a previous post on the pricing. He's in my neck of the woods, so I figured I'd be in the same boat as him for the upgrade.
The lack of the lock (sounds like a rap song or something!) just erks me to no end. I want that lock! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Mine was from Sewell Dallas. Trust me, once you see it on another H3, you will get over that it doesn't lock
Non-Lock Cap = $275.95 (http://www.teakatoys.com/products/showproduct.php/2834.html)
or
Locking Billet Fuel Door = $181.95 (http://www.teakatoys.com/products/showproduct.php/2635.html)
Not sure what this one is about as I thought the first one and this one were the same, but the pricing is different and it's a "Package"
What is the difference between this one and the first one? (http://www.teakatoys.com/products/showproduct.php/2830.html)
I found the GM one on another site for $168. This dramatic difference in pricing is beyond me. The one that locks doesn't look all that great. I'm torn.

I would highly advise staying away from Teaka Toys for accessories they are outrages on prices.I have the locking Billet door and got it for $155 and it looks great, dont care if it says hummer on it as long as it locks.

The more expensive one, that says Hummer, matches the chrome wheels. As I said check them both out when you go back to the dealership.

For those of us who are keeping everything blacked out, check out this fuel door. I think it looks awsome. I called them up, and he said it would be available for H3 very soon. One thing, what is up with there prices? Some suff is hundreds of dollars more.

This is for the reading impaired. "THEY ARE MAKING ONE FOR THE H3, AND THE MANUFACTURER SAID IT WILL BE OUT SOON." Same cover, just redisighned for the H3.

Hey H3Lady,
If you son works at HQ can you ask them to put a front locker in the Adventure Package please http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I thought the adventure package did have front lockers. I haven't read that but sure seemned that way when I was off-roading and turning. The truck didn't want to turn. As with lockers they like to go straight lines.
