I went to a local seat shop with tan leather seat covers. Told him I wanted the center sections replaced with black leather. He came back with a price of $2000 - http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif. Any other ideas out there?

You can get whole replacement leather "covers" for all the seating area for $679.
You just need to find someone local to switch out the seat "covers".

Wait till your warranty period is up.
The heater element is stitched into the covers.
It goes bad,off goes the custom covers, on goes
the OEM covers.

Ask your dealer about the complete set of black leather replacement skins offered by GM. I seem to remember them being just over $2000.
