Very cool, thanks for sharing. Do you have any idea if they would sell without the amp? I already have a couple of sub amps so don't need another.

I would be VERY interested please let me know.

Sorry bud, I would but I am keeping it all so I can return the truck back to stock form when I trade it back in for a V8 in 07 or 08.

Just a thought... on a trade in, if the sub and sub amp wern't in the truck, the stock systems (non monsoon) sound so nice I doubt anyone would ever know or ask for that mater.....again just a thought......
Thanks again Mike

Non Hummer dealer might not know, but who is going to go to anything but a Hummer dealer after owning one? http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Hello, on this H3 Custom system, where does the Amplifier mount, in the door as well with the subs? Is the subwoofer enclosure sealed or is it just a free air facia? What is the mounting depth for the subs? To order one I contact Luke??? Thanks for sharing-Peter

I spoke with Luke last night and he said he will sell just the enclosure with subs for $900.00 plus shipping Approx $40.00. I pre-ordered a enclosure from him however he can not start producing them until he has 10 orders. He currently only has 5. So if any one is interested please call him. Peter

I have 2 questions:
1) What is that thing that looks like a mouse in pic #31?
2) The other amp has to stay ringt? Does it power the other 6 spaeakers?

I would have to go back through the pics but I am guessing what you are seeing that looks like a mouse is the XM antenna. As far as the factory amp, I believe that I have read that the head unit powers the rest of the speakers but I could be wrong.

Oh, OK. I thought XM used the same antenna as the on star. the one on front right side of the roof.
That makes sense. The radio gets very hot. It must have an amp inside. It just seems strage that there is so many wires going to the rear amp.

Hey there, the thing that looks like a mouse is my new Sirius antena as i switched to SIRUIS from XM. They take pride in fit and finish so they hid the antena under that corner peice of plastic on the truck. Kinda nice I thought...
The amp for the sub is bolted to the plastic box the houses the subwoofer. Thus it does come out as well and yes the head unit powers the other speakers, so no need to buy a new amp for them as well.

did you keep the stock monsoon head in there?
do you know if the stock monsoon head powers the door speakers? I swapped in a 6 disc monsoon head into the base radio system and lost 1/2 of the volume output....not sure why other than the fact I thought that monsoon amp ran the doors also? could be the pin connectors are different on the back of both heads?
not sure what happened I have it at 3/4 volume for normal listening
got any ideas?

Yes, I think that was good idea to hide the "Mouse" in there! Does the factory radio work with Sirius?
UNOMYFLO: yes the factory radio has an internal amp that drives the six speakers. The amp in the rear only drives the sub. I guess that is why the radio is so big. Also it gets very hot, when you listen to the radio as loud as me! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif. I am now going to have to save up for that sub upgrade! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Yes, the factory radio works ONLY if you buy the "adapted wiring harness" then it works seamlessly with the factory head unit.

I just spoke to Earmark and got the scoop on the enclosure.
1st Luke no longer works there.
2nd The have not made one of these in 8 months because they do not have a Hummer to Fabricate it on. (I guess they must not of documented the first build :>)
3rd They have NO Intention on building another one unless someone in Plano goes to the store and asks for it>

I know that HoKC was going to take the pics to a local shop there to see about having some made. I have used this shop in the past, been around for ever, and they do very high quality work. Maybe he has gotten some word back from them.
There is also a shop that friends of mine have used here in Orlando that told me they would take a look at it and tell me what they could do. They were recommending on 10" rather than a pair of 8"s.

I had one built for me here in Washington State... I'm using a pair of 8" subs. The cost of the box was $600 (amp and speakers were extra of course) . All fiberglass except the front.
If you're in the Seattle area I can get you in touch with the guy that built mine.
