Does anyone happen to know how quickly the stock air compressor on the H2 flows (in CFM)? I am looking to add an Air Compressor to my S10, and I have used the H2's air compressor before and it does a good job on my 31" tires. I want to get a compressor that is comparable (cost permitting). Thanks.

Shag,
I got a QuickAir3 for a holiday gift and it's about the same. It may have even been a little quicker, but it sure did get hot after doing 4 35"s.

if you air down alot.. I would consider getting a air storage tank... little less wear on the compressor... and you have it when the car is off...
case in point... was plowing with my kubota this am at 530.. it was -8 degrees out there... the right tire was going flat.... just popped the trunk, grabbed my airline, attached to the rear quick connect, and tire is full...

I definatly understand that a tank in addition to the compressor is the way to go, but I am just curious as to how quickly the actual compressor on the H2 flows because if for whatever reason the tank fails(dont ask me how...if it is possible, it will happen to me) i would like to have a compressor that doesnt take 20+ minutes per tire like my $15 walmart one does.
I am thinking of going to a junkyard this weekend and trying to get a compressor off a late 80's or early 90's Caddy, but that would probably be a pain to wire up (has like 8 wires connected to it, so i would have to figure out which wire does what).
I have a VIAIR Model 450, it is 100% duty cycle with means you can run it continuously. Most of the portable compressors have a 33% duty cycle, which means the compressor can run for 15 minutes then must be off for 1 hour.

I am also curious as to the model/cfm of our compressors. Ron Carver at Hummer 1000 Oaks mentioned that a better/bigger compressor would indeed fit and alow the use of air tools. I think someone here has done that plus plummed his truck front/back.
By the way, has anyone upgraded the airhose or added standard sized quick disconnects to the existing valve in the interior of their truck?

i use my setup for air tools. it is a nice addition. the factory h2 compressor is pretty shady... gets hot as hell and takes forever to air back up all four..at least so I have heard.... it takes me probably around 5 minutes to do all four.

i forgot to add.. I put in front and rear quick disconnects.... easier...in all the pics of the aircompressors for h2's they show the guy airing up the left front tire... they should show a pic of him trying to air up the right rear... it is near impossible... plus you have to open the hood... if you have a winch... this gets to be a pain in the ass....
check out the airhorns topic... I have pics of the front and rear quick disconnects in there.
