I have read several posts here and other sites in regards that the grill plate bolts are missing. One post stated the plate fell off! Just for clarification, I am referring to the protective "plate" directly behind the front bumper and below the oil pan / engine.

I recently went to install new undercarriage protection, the other day and the instructions say to remove the current bolts. Well those current rear bolts were not there. Also, on mine only one of the front bolts were on there. I had to go purchase new ones. This is obviously some mistake and potential big issue.

Climb under your rig or even look from the side and see if your bolts are attached to the rear of your skid plate. They are about 2 inches long bolts size 13 mm socket.

I hope to add a picture soon.

I alerted the quality department about this issue and they are checking into this problem. Evidently the 2 middle bolts are hand started in one part of the plant and are used as guides for the other 2 plates to go into position, then all are suppost to be tightened down durring the final assembly. I may need some vin numbers from some of you to help find out where the process has fallen short. This is the last thing anyone at our plant want is problems with your H3 and want this problem fixed. Thanks to all who have said that this has happened so we can track down this problem.

hey guys, so I crawled under my H3 last night a pulled and did everything possible to see if the plate was loose, or coming loose? so far so good, then I proceeded to see if I could bench and lift the h3, my success was about a 1/8 of an inch of suspension lifted. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif
