Been searching but haven't found an answer to this question yet.

Can you use a reqular oil filter with synthetic oil?

I'm about to give her the first oil change and have a couple jugs of Mobil 1 in the garage. Was thinking of using the K&N oil filter HP-1007

Yes, you can use a regular oil filter. I personally think "high" end oil filters a re a waiste of $$..

I already have the filter so may as well use it, next time I'll probably just get the mobil 1 filter

The one and only thing I look for in a filter, is the anti-drain back valve.. I have torn apart a couple different brands of filters to look at the filter elements, and you would not be able to tell any difference.
