OK, who has what, and how do you like it? I'm picking mine up tomorrow, and will tell the salesman in the morning which one. Is Stabilitrak worth buying the auto transmission? Do you hate being stuck in traffic with a manual?

IMO: When I test drove both I found the brake peddle too close to the accelerator.

That and no more manual shifting http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

I went with the auto, I think the stabilitrak is worth it. It is a very smooth shifting transmission. In the area I live in I would probably get tired of the manual b/c of traffic, plus would not want to mess with it when going offroad.

I love the manual...Its fun driving...the shifter and clutch are smooth...plus the truck handles great and its nice having total control over the gearing...don't mind traffic at all...

If you're a purist, the manual will put you in slightly better touch with the truck, but I prefer the auto. Shifting in perpetually heavy SoCA traffic gets old fast. Offroad, I give up some engine braking but gain ease of control and have little worry about stalling it at a bad time. Resale value is a consideration too.

I imagine that 99% of Stabilitrak systems will never activate. But if you're in the one percent, you'll be very very glad its there.

I really like having the manual. I like having the control and I drive pretty rough so I get bored in an automatic. Manual gives it a sportier feeling drive than the auto I tested too. The shifting is short and smooth. I think it really comes down to preference and driving style though. I get bored in Phoenix traffic so I like shifting, alot of people dont. If you do go with the manual get the personal calling feature of onstar if you get alot of calls cause its just not possible to talk and shift.

H3OwnerDiz, yes, today is yesterday's tomorrow. I'm the proud owner of an H3, and chose the automatic over the manual. I did like the manual, but opted for the Stabilitrak and the extra 1500 lbs. towing capacity that you get with the auto. I traded off an Isuzu Axiom that didn't hold resale at all, and I don't regret having gone in upside down. Can't wait to put on some miles!

My opinion --

Cons: Auto is pretty expensive option and it doesn't have as good as low end gear ratio. Gas millage is not as good.

Pros: stabilitrak and break gas ability in off-roading + better towing.

So it really depends on what you want to use your truck for and your preferences.
