Removing Brush Grille Guard? Anyone?

I just ordered a very cool lower grille chrome insert. To install it, it requires that I remove the main grille. I started this process, but realized that I wouldn't get far because of the brush guard. I gave up..at least for now. Has anyone removed their brush guard? How difficult is it?
