BF vs. bridgestone

Does anyone know why hummer decided to switch to bridgestones for there 33"s. I personally have had great success with the BF long trail series and like the BF brand. just wondering why they switched??

My guess would be due to recent supply problems with BFG all-terrains. I know I have been looking for a set of AT's for my Tahoe and I can't find anywhere that has them. This may or may not be the reason but my two cents worth anyway.

I personally do not care for Bridgestones. Have had issues with sidewall cracking, and not the best for traction.
I think the whole reason they went to this brand is $$$$$$$$.

Bridgestones are usually quieter and softer (wear fast)....

i switched from bf goodrich all-terrains to bridgestone's years ago on my truck. From my experience, the bridgestone's seem to be made of a harder compound. My bfgoodrich's always wore down quick and look really crappy when there all worn down. I do more highway driving so i tend to favor bridgestone's excellent wear quality. And as for offroad performance, i've been in the prerunner desert seen for about 10 years and the bridegestone's work excellent everywhere, pismo dunes, ocotillo wells, glamis, mexico. I really like the new sidewall pattern they put on the hummer bridestone's i wonder if all the desert duellers are going to be sold with that sidewall pattern.

Bridgestone makes different tires for retail and OEM....

YO SUP!
I thought that bfg's where good tires.. well I'm not so sure anymore! I have 35x12.50x15" mud terrain-km tires on my 4Runner and they are starting to wobble due to rounding of the tread. these tires are only about 2 years old and still look like new.
Any way I've contacted bfg and they want me to take them to a local bfg dealership and have them take a look at the tires to see why this is happening. I'll keep you posted on the results.. JP'S-H3

You hit it! Contract with a struggling tire company (Bridgestone/Firestone) means more dollars of profit per vehicle. When the OEM's wear out, most people bail to Michelins, BFGs or Goodyears because of the bad history Bridgestone/Firestone has.

Hi folks!
well the problem I had w/ my 35x12.50x15" bfg-muds has been settled.
bfg conacted me and had me take my rig into a local bfg dealership (discount tires) here in salt lake. they did a tire static test to see if the tires where out of round. well they found two bad tires out of the four and bfg decided to give me 60% off on two new ones. I guess that was a fair deal, so I paid $183.22 for two tires, mounting and ballancing.
I'm still not sure if I will ever buy bfg tires again.. what do you folks think about bfg tires? JP'S-H3
