I got my dual battery system installed yesterday by Wrangler NW Power Products.
It's a great set up that allows dual use of the batteries or the isolation of one.

I've got a few things attached to my battery & I'm always winching out some Jeep or Toyota somewhere(http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif), so I feel much better with this system.

Here's the dash switch.

Drty, it looks like the original POS cable that goes to the little red box is only hooked to one battery and not to the isolator. It seems to me that you would only get the cranking amps available from the one battery and not both.
When you switch, does the available power from both batteries exist at both batteries' positive posts or does the combined amperage only come available from the isolator? I know what I am trying to ask, I am just not sure I am conveying my question very well. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Call Wrangler and ask Stan. I haven't gotten around to asking any questions yet. Sorry.

$649.00 for kit and batteries then the cost of install and shipping. couldn't give me any amp hour numbers. I'm not interested in cranking amps. I want amp hours for running a winch. They look like small batteries maybe 60 amp hour each. You can buy 120 amp hour batteries.

I contacted Stan and he explained the setup very well. Indeed when the switch is set to dual battery mode, the batteries are tied together providing the full amps of both batteries together at each battery's POS post. Therefore full cranking amps from the combination of both batteries are available.
So, Drty, your setup is pretty nice. He explained that the item both batteries are tied to is actually a high amp relay which allows for the "lockup" of both batteries.
