I'm having a hard time with my dealer here in Utah
(Jerry Seiner Hummer in South Jordan). I was told
that my order was placed, when I specified the H3
back on March 25th, but now my salesman can't
get the 6-digit order number for me.

Sounds like something fishy is going on,
so I am getting to be rather disappointed
and starting to look at other types of SUVs
and wondering about GM's financial problems.
I am thinking of getting my deposit back
and telling them to forget it.

Earlier I was kind of glad to help GM show
that the Hummer is a high-quality brand that will
help them return to profitability, by buying
an H3 right away. I've tried to be nice and
persistent but my salesman has not returned
many of my phone calls (maybe 1 out of 10),
and given reasons such as the order info being
locked up and his boss being expected later,
then not showing up at all that day.

If anyone has suggestions, please let me know.
I did call the Hummer (800)732-5493 number and
talk to a nice operator named Nancy, and she was
going to call the dealer and try to get the order number
(or the real story). She's supposed to call back Wednesday...

Best Regards to you all. Hope that most people
have good ordering experiences and get their 6-digit order number.

I'll be frank and to the point. What difference does it make? I pre-ordered my H2 3 years ago and didn't get or even was worried about an order number. I kept in touch with my dealer and he with me on when it was to drop. Our local dealer is to be getting their first ones in about 2 weeks and their entire first month allocation is pre-sold.

And give me a break, you aren't doing GM any favors. If you can't buy the H3 for what it is, it is probably best if you do move on to something else.

Paragon makes a powerful point here. I would add, too, that to hang GM based on one dealer's inaction seems unreasonable...With brand new vehicles, there will be bumps here and there......

Be cool and calm down. Those people are good people and if not you will have no problem with dealers close by. Keep in mind GM changes things on the dealer sometimes and it is beyond their control. I once had 3 H2's changed from Lux to Adventure series because they ran out of black leather. I had the fun of letting the customer know that the truck he was waiting on was now with grey leather. Calling HUMMER will not help it just makes the dealer wonder why to give you one of the first trucks if all your gonna do is bitch.

Seiner is a great dealer! I used to live in SLC. No problems. If you aren't getting the customer attention you feel you deserve, go in there and talk to the sales manager. With this model being new, and pricing being sorted out, the dealers are all working on this. Now, if your order was placed and you have a deposit down, and aren't getting call backs, you need to let the sales manager know that. MOst people that pre-order vehicles don't bother to get that order number. Did they give you a prommsed delivery date? Start with calling the sales manager and let him know that 1 in 10 calls are being returned, and still no answers. Tell them of your concern about the truck order and see what they say.

OK, good points, thanks,
especially the one about talking to the
managers when I see inconsistencies
and lack of callbacks. I do have a
deposit down. No, no promised delivery date.
That's what I could get in detail with
the 6-digit order number, according to
other posts. (Please post about your
experiences in detail, those who have
such information.)
