View Full Version : Exhaust leak in Hawaii

I'm posting here because I get a better response here from GM Hummer than if I were to try contacting them or the dealership here.

I just noticed this exhaust leak on my 2005 H2. I have only 16643 miles. Is this a defect that's covered by GM Hummer? If it is, is there somewhere else besides Pfluger Hummer in Honolulu that I can take my truck to?

Did you hit it on anything?

Nope, I actually inspected my exhaust because I just got that service reminder in the mail and at MYGMLINK to check your exhaust at 25000 miles. I only have 16643 miles.
It's rusted through (there's a hole) The last time I brought it in to the shop (8/19/05) I asked them to look at it because it looked really rusty for a brand new truck and it sounded noisier. They told me that it was normal and that it was ok. Is this ok?
It can't be from a rock because there's no damage to the bottom. This is in the rear on the weld seam. I would recommend everyone to take a look at there muffler before the 25000 mile interval.

It's supposed to be like that, called a weep hole. Allows for condensation to drain out.

Learned it from DRTY!

so this rusting is normal? and corrosion around the hole is not gonna hurt the muffler?
I thought it was a weep hole because the hole was too perfect but I don't remember my Borla having one.
Do I need to do any maintenance to the stock muffler? Is the rust just superficial?
Thanks for the help.. i would hate to have to go to the dealer and pay for a new muffler!

That does NOT look like a weep hole. A WH should be small and not all beat up looking. It should be stamped nice and round, not goofed up and rusted.

I'll check ours out tomorrow if you'd like and take a photo.

Not exactly.

DRTY's hole has been stretched out so much, it doesn't close anymore.

So it just weeps. Or shartles. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Unfortunately the retards at Pflueger is the only shop where we can get warranty work done. They suck as far as everything goes. Useless ****ers they are.
