I was looking for any post from anyone who has hard wired a V1 radar detector and was unable to find any info as to what wires where used in the H2. In my Z06 I was fortunate enough to have a pigtail harness that was from the factory and meant for a cell phone to use. Any such luck in the H2? If not what wires have people tapped into? I would like to have the detector only on when the key is on.

I used a device I picked up from PeP Boys Auto Parts. You remove a fuse and plug it into the spot created by the removed fuse. It has two places for fuses on it, one is for the orignal fuse you removed and the other is for a fuse that will be used for the device you are adding. It includes a pigtail to connect to your device as well. It makes connectiosn very simple and neat. It also provides additional fuse protection for any add on. And no splicing into your existing wiring harness needed. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Thanks a lot. That sounds like a perfect solution!

It appears our windshields are too vertical for the V1 window mount. Anyone know if the mirror mount made for vettes will work with our rear view mirrors?

I also had my V1 hardwired in my Z06. I just hardwired it in the H2. I have a sunroof and since the key has to be on for it to work it was the perfect place for a hardwire. I am not sure of the color wires I tapped, but it works really well. Especially since I have it attached to the sunvisor and there is almost no wire to run or showing. If you have a sunroof this is the best way IMO.

Not sure, but the visor clip works very well unless you use it a lot.

PhilD my set up looks just like yours with the concean unit. Do you like it. I know it must be a lot easier to mute then reaching to the sunvisor.

I think I tapped the black for neg. and the tan for positive on the sunroof.

I do agree the V1 is worth every cent eventhough I dont speed much in the H2. What makes it so great are the arrows and it is what makes this unit shine. I do like the conceal unit in the H2 and I may have to order one.
