I wanted to make sure about the part# of nav radios to be installed in older trucks without nav. Do you still have the part#'s. Also, as far as I can tell, all 04's that did not come factory with nav should have the same amp as the 03's. Have you heard of anything that disagrees with that? Thanks

Hummertech,

2004s have 2 different type amps, and the part number of TNR you need depends on which type amp your truck has installed. This was a mid-year change.

The Bose amps were changed in mid 2004 to a lower grade model. 2003s have the "LUX" amp, just like the Cadillac Escalades. The later 2004s and the 2005s have the "premium" Bose system. You can tell the difference my the audio selections available on your radio. If your audio selections include "Normal, Driver, Rear, and Spacious" you have the "LUX" amp. If your selections include "Custom" and "Talk" you have the "premium" amp.

The part numbers kept changing, so I'll have to do a little searching to see what folks say are the latest GM part numbers.

Check out the Avalanche forum. That's where I get quite a lot of info.

Here's what the guys on the Avalanche list say are the latest part numbers:

Lux:10377531 - Updated#:15230099

Premium & Non-Bose: 10377287 - Updated #:10351123

Other items (XM, Changers, misc...)

XM Retrofit Kit: P/N: 12498768

AUX harness #15312903 $25
AUX CD changer #15055250 $180
</div></BLOCKQUOTE>

I have a 2003, and my TNR is part number 10377531.

BTW - If you have one of those v4.1 DVDs laying around I'd sure like to test it for compatibility! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Also, by looking on the tag, or whatever it is, in the glovebox, there is a designation on whether it's a premium or LUX.

I'll have to dig to find the 2 designations, but it's pretty obvious and is across the board on all large GM SUVs, I think.

If you have Y91 anywhere on some tag in the glovebox (I don't have my truck right now, so I can't look) it has the LUX amp. If it doesn't, you don't.

Be careful about the glovebox codes. My truck has Y92 on the label, and it has the LUX audio setup as do all 2003s.

Generally, Y91 is considered the LUX audio code in the GM line. It would be interesting to see if late 2004s or 2005s still have the Y92 code.

From reading documents on my end, it looks like all 03's have the lux amp, all 05's don't, and the 04's that came without nav do have the lux amp, and the 04's with the crappy factory nav system do not have the lux amp. Does anyone know if this holds to be true or not?

That sounds logical for the NAV equipped H2s, as I seem to remember the INR NAV was not available until later in the 2004 model year.

I'm not sure about the non-NAV equipped 2004s. Maybe you could start a poll here on what audio setup 2004 H2s came with from the factory.
