I'm looking at 10.1 with 37" Super Swamper SSR's.
The computer has not been re-calibrated to the tire upgrade though. Ric-H2 |

Avg econ at 12.9 mpg at 7,800 miles but supercharger was added at 5,000 miles and has been going up steadily. I think it will settle around 13.4 mpg.

HI Guys, 24000 miles, 10 when towing 14.8 down hill from Flagstaff, 12.6 to 13.2 when driving like an old man in town, 11.6 when I just drive ( fast )and check it every now and then.

Yep.. sometimes I wish the H2 had the 45gal tank that my Sub has.
On the way in I noticed premium gas prices ranging from $1.65 to $1.94.. This was within a 2 mile strip. I do not know if the Gas stations in your area do the same. But around here many put a $50.00 cap per CC transaction at the pump. This bites, because when the price is over $1.50 @ gallon you can't fill up. 900 miles at 9.9mpg
Why don't you close out the transaction at $50 and start another to fill up.. or change credit cards. |
I had the same problem with my F250 Powerstroke.
I had to stop it at $50 and then start up another transaction. I finally got smart, and would full up when my tank was half-empty or half-full (for you optimists). Why not try filling when you reach half, and all your worries will be gone. You should only have this fill up problem one last time in your life if you follow the half rule. Ric-H2 |
yeah some stations here put caps at 50 bucks. Now prem gas is $2.05 in so cal.

5500 miles 12.5 mpg

Do you guys really put SUPER in your H2?
Why?
quote:
Originally posted by Albie: yeah some stations here put caps at 50 bucks. Now prem gas is $2.05 in so cal.

|
Why would it matter. It is a gas guzzler and there is not a need to calculate fuel economy. Just drive it and fill it up when the light comes on and tells you that you are almost out of gas.
|
Have to. Prevents detenation, thus keeps the
knock sensor from retarding the timing. Besides, it is highly recommended with a SC. Tahoe gets regular and gets around 13mpg. Black Lingenfelter Lux |
Well.. lol.. of course beside you Ken and everybody else that has a SC. But for stock H2.. Why? I've been putting 87octane in mine since I bought it.
|
Phil, I am glad you brought that issue up of octane. I have the air box, headers and exhaust on my H2 and I have the Predator tuning system. I have the tune in from there programer and have used the real time data system to monitor the knock retart readings from the ECU, I run regular 87 octane and with WOT have no KRTiming at all. So Phil is correct save your money unless it is 105 temp and or you have a SC.

It's not the card it is the various stations policys, just as in a few areas you must pay 1st, then pump. I gues I cuold fill up on the half rule.. it woiuld mean that I have to go to get gas everyday.

Hypertech III for most performance requires Premium. Supercharger on Chev Sub requires premium. I ran reg in both before upgrades.

Everyone must buy and use high octane. It is better for your engine and will increase gas mileage. You also will not have to change your oil as often and the air in your tires will not need to be rotated nearly as often. Only about every ten thousand miles or so.
I owned a Texaco several years ago and believe me, all my customers needed premium. Seriously, though, my station was not in the best part of town and I sold a butt load of premium as a percentage compared to other owners in more affluent neighborhoods. Go figure... Black Lingenfelter Lux |
Not avg mpg input, but this weekend took a downhill road at 60mph, my H2 instant said 60mpg!! Didn't even know the H2 computer has a mpg number that can go that high??
