Oil.... synthetic to conventional?

I've been using Royal Purple since 22 or 24k miles. I've noticed though, the I'm going through about a quart every 6-6500 miles. At the price of RP, plus the extra court, I could put conventional in it every 3-3500k and come out way ahead in the cost department.

I wanted to get some opinions first though. Is this OK to do?

Does your H2 blow through the oil? I've read it's a 6.0l vortec issue, so I'm guessing the answer is yes.

I've never had a leak so I rarely check my oil levels but have never had an issue with burning oil. I've always ran Mobil 1 in all my vehicles including the 2.

Typically it is not a problem to switch back to conventional or the other way around. Some will say to mix each oil (same weight) while some sources will say to just do a complete swap. Depends where you read the info.

You don't burn any oil? I don't have leaks, at all. But I do burn some oil.

If you put 6 quarts in with a new filter- after 5k miles you're dip stick still reads to the top dot???

Thanks for the other info....

I'll check it tonight. I'm only about halfway to my next change but I'll see what the stick reads.
