HUMMER WONT CRANK..NEED HELP

Howdy

Hoping someone might have experienced similar and could give a little advise. A few months ago my 35000 mile H2 wouldn't crank with the key in the run position. All other electrical systems seem fine. A few hours later it worked just fine and no trouble for weeks. Then it became more frequent and by cycling the key several times rapidly I could get it to crank. When that little trick stopped working I had it towed to the dealership and they replaced the ignition switch. Second tow to dealer resulted in checking the connection to the fuse block, putting some dielectric grease on the connector($125.00). Third tow to dealer they turn the key and it starts...sorry. Fourth tow to dealer new starter. Fifth tow to dealer they discover that a dead cell in my battery is the culprit...I am told it is acting like a resistor and robbing the truck of power. Seems strange because everything in the truck lights up and works fine just no crank. Low and behold get home from dealer Friday and the truck has been dead in the driveway ever since. Whats left ? I hate the fact that this licensed GM dealer is throwing parts at it and making a fool out of me. Any help would be appreciated.

I had the same thing happen and they replaced the ignition switch. All was fine for two years and then it started happening again and I pulled the OnStar fuse as well as having them replace the ignition switch again. There's an old thread about the ignition switches going bad and the replacements not being any better until 2007. No problems since then.

I also pulled my OnStar fuse after two dead batteries.

We need to put together a list and locations of all the grounds in those trucks.

The H2 has now sat at the dealer all week and they dont have a clue. I am asking for a new ignition switch with fingers crossed. Let let you know how I make out. Will pull the onstar fuse when it gets home.

Thanks for the replies!

No battery issues. I'm now leaning toward anti theft issue. If I cycle the lock and unlock on the key fob 10-15 times it starts at ramdom. The problem also seems to occur more often when the temp drops below freezing. Really wierd. A friend suggested having a remote start installed and bypass the system. Does anyone know if there is a seperate anti theft module or if it is built into the main computer?

Every once in a while my H2 won't turnover. I have remote start so I tried that and still no start. It happened about 5x so far and every time I waited a few minutes and then it starts?
