Squeal On turn

Hey all,
I am trying to find out what could be the cause of this squeal I have when it comes to turning my Hummer.
For a while now I have this full turn lock squeal that comes from my rig. It used to be only when I turned right, but it seems to be progressing into left turn too.
I dont get any wiggle in the wheel, there is no sudden tightness, or any other thing that could be showing other than the squeal.
Usually once the turn is done, the squeal goes away.
Also usually seems to happen when I am moving, and not so much with the wheels turned and I am stopped waiting.

Any ideas?

Re: Squeal On turn

I remember in my mothers old car when she would turn her wheel all the way left or right and moving during the turn, the power steering pump would make an awful squeal. Maybe this???????

Some other potential issues that come to mind that maybe culprits:

wheel bearings (but that would feel/sound more like metal to metal contact).
cv joint??
tie rod??

I'm thinking power steering pump too since I am almost 100% positive the there is not a separate belt for steering.

Sounds like you need a good garage that will let you get on the lift to check out the front end and let you know what they find.

Take care and let us know what it is or was ~Richard

Re: Squeal On turn

hubs
Frame cross member
CV*axle
steering*column*(re-grease or replace)
front skid plate
steering stabilizer
front sway bar
front body / frame mounts

I had the same issue too.......only on left turn. Wheel hubs fixed mine (minor wheel movement when jacked up)
