Not dead yet.
I loved to come here because of all the excitement over what we own but wow is all i can say. This site has gone downhill for some reason and its too bad as it was always a good resource for info and laughs. Maybe it will survive but it sure is looking bad now .I guess only time will tell . Take care to all the members left as we seem to be a dying breed.:grouphug:

Re: The forum has died

Re: The forum has died
I agree and I have been trying for years to keep it going
It just has something to do with traffic and the lack of ability to keep the site moving like the others :-( Hopefully Jason will see it dwindling.... :crying: |
Re: The forum has died
Yea I would hate to see this site die off. I still frequent this site for info.
|
Re: The forum has died
All Jason did was to lock the site down after this post

Re: The forum has died
Well hopefully this continues on,maybe a revamping is in order of some type and a little self promotion might be in order. I realize we own not only a unique vehicle but now they seem to be somewhat collectible. Somehow maybe we can rally the troops and continue to be what i thought was the #1 resource for hummer owners.:beerchug:

Why has the list never gone to Facebook posting? Or keep this one and do Facebook too? I know there have been several postings about this a few years ago when we were a larger group and that there have been some that say no way to Facebook. I hate to say as much as I have love this group it really looks to fail just like the Avalanche list too. They failed do to money to run the group in a forum just like this one is and all the group members were left hanging too with nothing but some posts that were archived. And mind you this happened 6 or 7 years ago when the Avalanche had not been cancelled yet so it seems hard to believe this group has much more life but I will hang in here till the end. |
Re: The forum has died
I love this forum and would be crushed if it died out. What can we do to help ?
|
Re: The forum has died
It seems as if we have about 13 or so active members, it would be nice to get some input from jason as to the future of the forum. I realize it takes allot of time to run these sites and there is a few of us that would like to keep it going and help if we can.

Yes sir! Thank you! Here's a pic! It sleeps inside and I hand wash it every month (or sooner if needed) and a fresh hand wax when needed! I can guarantee its the cleanest looking Cessna you've ever seen! sorry for the bad resolution picture i had to use one form my phone so it would fit the proper size dimension to upload....PS I literally live for airplanes and flying so if anyone ever wants to talk aviation, you can come to me! and I vote yes for a Facebook group as well!!! The current hummer fb groups aren't too great : ( |
Re: The forum has died
Nice plane just missing the hummer in the background and someone holding the door open as you exit to go to the plane:giggling:

Once again, very nice. I had a 1974 210, that I bought new and sold it in 1999, because I just wasn't using it enough. I really do miss it. It was such a comfortable plane and just about impossible to get out of cg. |

Re: The forum has died
It is not on life support yet, but struggling. Over the years just about everything that can go wrong the H2 and H3 and had design defects has been posted. We've seen mods on here from mild to wild. With the Hummer out of production you loose the excitement of all the people with new deliveries and posting pictures of their new rides. When you take your Hummer to the Cadillac dealer to get worked on they treat you like a stepchild. I was spoiled by Jim Lynch and Lynch Hummer. By far the best dealership I've ever dealt with. I will never forget when he handed me the keys to a new H1 while I sat in the waiting room to get lunch while they did warranty work on my H2. Also, the dealer sponsored outings were a ball, and for many owners, their first offroad experience. Everything has to be politically correct these days, and the Hummer was a victim of those do gooders said we were voiding the planet of its precious resource of gasoline. Little was ever said about the nurses I took to the hospital and dialysis patients I brought in during snowstorms in the Hummer when not much was moving on the roads. Then there were those that helped on the flooded streets on New Orleans during Katrina and the Hummers that literally saved Clarksville from flooding even worse than it did........ Mark with his 16 inch lifted H2 with the huge tires that got to areas the National Guard couldn't get to with their Humvees.......

The forum - still alive!
I am still here too! In fact I am going to post a new thread!!
When we bought our first H2 in 2006, this forum was THE forum to come to for help. Classy and helpful forum members. Hopefully it will revive. |
Re: The forum has died
I'm still around as well, wiling to help where I can.
HUMMER -- Like Nothing Else |
Re: The forum has died
I still visit the forum now and then too. My wife traded her 2005 H3 for a 2008 Alpha and she loves it. As many of you know, I'm on my third H2 and this 2007 SUT is going strong and just turned over 130,000 miles. I put an aftermarket transmission cooler on this one and I went back to the OEM BFG tires because the noise from the other ones were driving me nuts. I had the undercarriage and frame steam cleaned and painted in October and had Safelite finally repair the windshield. Between the wife and I we have over 300,000 miles in Hummers and the only major problem I've had is the BCM going out on my '06 and the wife had a wiring issue with her dealer installed back up cam on the 05 H3. So far I've loved every minute of ownership and gas under 2 dollars here, makes it even better

Re: The forum has died
I'm still here and I check the forum daily
|
Re: The forum has died
I dont frequent much anymore either, just not much discussion going on. I Still have my 06 H2 with 48k on her. Still love driving its. There is nothing out there that intrigues me for a replacement. Hopefully I'll keep it for a long time to come.

Re: Not dead yet.
Just got back from visiting my son and his family in Telluride on the 4th. The H2 ran flawlessly and turned 170,000 miles descending I70 into Denver on the way home. I don't think most people realize what great highway 4 X 4s these are.

Re: Not dead yet.
It has definitely slowed down over the years but I still call this site HOME. There's too much knowledge here to just give up on it. I check in all the time but I just forget to log in.

Re: Not dead yet.
I think this is my first post, but I have been coming to this site for a very long time.
To those who have posted and contributed to this site, thank you. I've learned a lot from this site, like what to do and not to do. I hope contribute as well. I've had two SUTs, and very much enjoyed them (so did my nieces and nephews with the rear dvd systems). Sadly I had to sell them, but I'm looking to get another soon. I'm planning to get a stock SUT and custom build it with a lift, wheels, gears, engine/trans upgrades, and what ever else i can think of. |
Re: Not dead yet.
Still alive....

Re: Not dead yet.
My wife and I just returned from a trip to New Mexico in the H2.

Re: Not dead yet.
Hello to all,
I've used this resource since our first H2 we bought in 2011. We currently own NJ H2's Hummer "teh black won't get you back" My wife absolutely loves it (her rig) Less H2 owners on the road every year. I sell vehicles for a living and only see one or two come to the dealership each year. It's a shame, I was looking at the motor yesterday (have a radiator leak, help!) and was reflecting that it is one of the last power plants in which can actually change the spark plugs. We are a dwindling generation of owners, sad to say Thanks to the owners that came before me! |
Re: Not dead yet.
Still here too...well, actually just got back from a year hiatus; on my second H2.
This site is definitely a good resource...browsers come and go but Elcova stays in my Favorites bar. |
